When choosing a place to stay in Haluzice, two things stand out: trails through the landscape and local architectural and settlement history. More than half of the cadastral area is forested. Haluzice lies in the foothills of the VizovickĂ© vrchy and on the northern edge of the BĂlĂ© Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. A small pond was also created on the northern edge of the village.
Hiking and Cycling Routes
The marked Luhačovice–Haluzice–Vlachovice–Valašské Klobouky hiking route passes through the Luhačovské Zálesà microregion and is 26 kilometres long. Haluzice is explicitly named in the route’s list of villages. Its total length gives you a clear benchmark if you are looking for a route with a precise distance. A green-marked hiking trail also starts on the western edge of Haluzice. The hiking options therefore differ in what is clear for planning: one route has a stated length, while the other has a starting point on the western edge of the village.
There are also specific points of reference for cycling. A marked section of the Beskydsko-karpatská magistrála long-distance cycling route runs along the western edge. After passing through Lipová, the “Na kole pĹ™es SlaviÄŤĂn a LouÄŤku” cycling route leads to a junction near Haluzice. It recommends a detour to Haluzice for its magnificent views of the surrounding area. On foot, you can use the stated length of one hiking route or the starting point of another trail as a selection criterion; by bike, the marked long-distance route and the recommended detour take centre stage.
Folk Architecture and Village History
Haluzice is home to a hexagonal timber-framed bell tower, a small monument to folk architecture. It has served local residents for 150 years. Its hexagonal shape and timber construction offer two specific points of interest if you are interested in local architecture. There is also a cross dating from 1900 in the village square. The two cultural landmarks offer different points of interest: for the bell tower, its design and long use; for the cross, its date as a precise historical reference.
The former settlement layout is also part of the village’s history: former farmhouses in Haluzice are arranged in a horseshoe shape, as was once customary around historic village squares. Alongside individual buildings, the layout of the former village square offers another way to explore the past. Haluzice also belonged to the Vizovice estate, another historical detail about the village.
The Vlachovsko Museum aims to focus on the folk culture, traditions and customs of southern Valašsko. Its particular focus includes Vlachovice, Vrbětice, Křekov, Vlachova Lhota and Haluzice. This thematic scope complements the local architectural and settlement history with regional culture and traditions.
Practical Planning
There is a bus stop in Haluzice. If you are considering travelling by bus, check the timetable for your travel date. When making your choice, you can weigh up whether the marked hiking route with its stated distance or the cycling detour with its recommended views better suits your plans; the bell tower, the cross and the historic village-square layout offer a distinct cultural focus.
