Částkov borders the Prakšická vrchovina Nature Park directly. The village also contains tangible evidence of its history. This means travel plans can focus on several things side by side: historic sites within the municipality and a neighboring natural landscape. Two annual events and cycling routes that pass through Částkov add to the options. Visitors choosing between culture, landscape, and local heritage will find several clear themes for their stay.
Valley and Nature Park
Částkov lies in a valley where the Lovčice and Řásná streams join to form the Částkovský potok. The Prakšická vrchovina Nature Park, which borders Částkov directly, is a harmoniously shaped cultural landscape of forests, permanent grassland, fields with wooded patches, shrubs, numerous old orchards, pastures, and fragments of thermophilic steppe meadows. The mix of forest, woodland, and open areas conveys the variety of the neighboring landscape. The valley reflects the local waterways, while the nature park defines the landscape setting.
Chapel and Traces in the Terrain
The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes was consecrated in 1898–1899. Unlike this building, the history of the Částkov archaeological site—“Na hradě”—dates back much further: it consists of partially preserved traces in the terrain of a fortress built before 1321. By 1497, sources already mention the fortress as demolished. The terrain remains lie on the eastern edge of Částkov, a few dozen metres above the church and beside the municipal office building. The different dates help place the chapel and the site in their historical context.
Buildings and Local Heritage
An agricultural chamber from the 19th century survives at house No. 37. It adds another aspect of the village’s architectural history to the chapel and traces in the terrain.
Today, only a remnant of the Žižkův dub remains. A local legend links the tree to a story that Jan Žižka’s army supposedly rested there for several days. This account of the army’s rest should be understood as local tradition, not as a confirmed historical episode. The site thus brings together its present condition and a local storytelling tradition.
Events and Cycling Routes
The traditional Císařské hody s právem festival is held in Částkov every year, as is a Fašank parade. If you would like to plan your stay around either event, check the specific date for the relevant year in advance.
Local marked cycling route 5176 passes through Částkov. Another cycling route runs via Podolí–Jarošov–Březolupy–Částkov–Prakšice–Hradčovice–Podolí. The details differ: 5176 is the local route number, while the second route is identified by a sequence of place names. Check the number and route before setting out, using current local information.
