Jalubí combines historic buildings and traces of former trade routes with a range of leisure activities. These include a Baroque church, a High Baroque chapel, a protected toll stone and a historic windmill that now exists as a replica. Mini golf, a beach volleyball court that can also be used for beach soccer, and an outdoor pool complement these cultural and historical attractions with opportunities for exercise and seasonal swimming. When planning your visit, you can distinguish between architectural history, trade history and leisure activities by type or season.

Church, Chapel and Toll Stone

Construction of Jalubí’s present-day Baroque church began in 1750 under Abbot Antonín Haucke. The “Klášterní stezky: Jalubí” route leads to the late Baroque “Church of St John the Baptist.” On the old road to Velehrad, a High Baroque chapel also stands on the rise above Jalubí. It was built in 1737 and is freely accessible. The dates mark different points in the building history: 1750 is when construction of the church began, while 1737 is when the chapel was built.

The protected toll stone points to a trade route that ran through Jalubí. Originally, it stood outside the village; in 1998 it was moved and placed beneath a shelter on the main road. An information board provides further details. This makes it possible to distinguish the historic link to the trade route from the stone’s present location.

Windmill: Historic Use and Replica

The historic windmill was in operation by 1875 at the latest. The original mill was demolished in 1938; from 2007 to 2009, a replica was built on the cleared foundations of its predecessor. This distinguishes the original period of operation from the later reconstruction as separate chapters in the history of the mill.

After the paved path ends, a field track leads to the windmill, with views of Chřiby and Bílé Karpaty along the way. A cycling tour follows cycle route 5050 to Jalubí. These route details relate to different parts of the journey: the cycle route leads to the village, while the field track is part of the approach to the mill.

Leisure by Activity and Season

The mini golf course has ten holes with obstacles of varying difficulty. The beach volleyball court can also be used for beach soccer. During the summer months, the Jalubí outdoor pool offers a stainless-steel pool with swimming lanes, as well as a children’s pool with water features such as spray jets and a slide. The pool combines swimming lanes with a dedicated water-play area and is explicitly a seasonal offering.

There are different options to choose from by type of activity: mini golf with varied obstacles, two ball sports at the beach volleyball court, and swimming and water play at the outdoor pool. If you plan to visit the pool, take the summer months into account. For a visit focused more on cultural history, the church, chapel, toll stone and windmill offer a range of connections—from sacred architecture and trade to the history of a reconstructed mill.
