Roštín combines marked hiking trails with a trip to Brdo, a nature trail featuring elements for children, a forest chapel and Koupaliště Roštín. The different starting points are useful when planning your day: the blue route starts in the town centre, while the starting point for the hike to Brdo is in Salárna, near the swimming pool. This lets you decide whether a route through fields and woodland, a summit destination or an activity in town best suits your stay.

Hiking Trails and Different Starting Points

The blue-marked Roštínským polesím route is 5 km long. It runs through the southeastern part of Roštín on paved and unpaved field and forest paths. When planning, the changes in surface are therefore worth considering as well as the route’s length. The route is suitable for families with children and includes a stop at Roštínská kaple, where there is a spring.

Another trail for children is the Naučná stezka K lípě u Roštína. It features playful and educational elements. There is a rest area at a signpost, and a bench with an information board stands at the end of the route. These stops are part of this nature trail; suitability for families and the stop at the chapel, on the other hand, relate to the Roštínským polesím route.

The hiking route from Roštín to Brdo is 7 km long as a round trip and has an elevation gain of 278 m. Its starting point is in the Salárna district, near Koupaliště Roštín, where parking is available. Roštín can be reached by car or bus. The 23.9 m-high Brdo observation tower stands on the summit of the same name. At 587 m, the summit is the highest in the Chřiby Mountains. This makes it possible to factor the Brdo trip into your day’s plans based on its distance and elevation gain.

From Roštínská kaple, you can extend your walk along the forest path on the yellow-marked route to Bunč or on the green-marked route to Brdo. If you are considering Roštín as an overnight destination, you can take the starting point of your planned hike into account when planning your day: the blue route starts in the centre, while the starting point for Brdo is in Salárna. The parking available there is another useful reference point if you are travelling by car.

Swimming and Other Activities

Koupaliště Roštín has a 25 m-long swimming pool with three massage jets and a water feature. The complex also includes a 4 m-long children’s pool with a fish-shaped water feature, as well as a beach sports court. Alongside the hiking trails, swimming and beach sports are therefore other ways to spend time in Roštín. If you are planning a visit to the swimming pool, check the latest operating information beforehand.

Forest Chapel and Church

Roštínská kaple is a forest chapel with a statue of Our Lady of Loreto. It has stood in the forest behind Roštín since 1907. A spring of fresh, clean water rises directly below the chapel. Together, the chapel and spring form a named stop on the Roštínským polesím route; marked forest paths also continue from here towards Bunč or Brdo.

Kostel sv. Anny church is also among Roštín’s cultural destinations. Services are held there regularly. If you would like to plan your visit around a service, check the times in advance. This allows you to plan hikes, a visit to the chapel and time in town according to your destinations and starting points.
