Cycling, walks and local culture give Tis U Blatna its distinctive character: cycling routes pass through the village, the landscape is shaped by meadows and forests, and the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross combines architectural history with striking features. If you are looking for a holiday rental, you can plan your stay around the focus of your excursions.

Landscape and walks

Tis U Blatna is located in Horní Střela Nature Park. The surrounding area is characterised mainly by meadows and forests and is suitable for walking and picking mushrooms and other wild fruits. The landscape itself can therefore be a focus of your stay, alongside individual sights and cultural destinations.

Nearby, in the direction of Žihle, there is a granite rock city with groups of rocks and individual boulders, including Dědek and Bába. If you would like to explore rock formations as well as meadows and forests, this offers a distinct focus for an excursion.

Cycling routes and nature trail

Cycling route 2261 passes through Tis U Blatna on the section between Žihle and Tis U Blatna. Cycling route 2152 also passes through the village, running from Velečín via Tis U Blatna to Podbořany. These sequences of places give you two different route options when planning a cycling trip.

The Podbořany–Rabštejn nad Střelou–Podbořany cycling loop is 75.3 kilometres long; Tis U Blatna lies at kilometre 44.0. This places the village on a specifically named circular route. Route conditions can change; check them before setting out.

The Sklárna nature trail offers a different type of route: the circular trail is 8.1 kilometres long, with car parks at its start and end in the settlement of Sklárna. After going around the Petrák pond and Raštická louka, the trail leads close to Tis U Blatna. Two detours lead to the Mravenčí stezka and Lidčina skála.

For planning according to distance, you can choose between an 8.1-kilometre nature trail and a 75.3-kilometre cycling loop. These figures describe two distinctly different types of outing, without indicating how long either takes to walk or cycle.

Church and monuments

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Tis U Blatna is currently a branch church and belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Kralovice. It was remodelled in the Gothic style in the 14th century and was originally dedicated to Saint George. The single-nave building has a pentagonal presbytery and a tower above the west façade. Its architectural form and former dedication offer different ways to explore the local history of the church.

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Tis U Blatna dates from 1825. The cross monument dates from 1890 and is considered an important example of craftsmanship from the late 19th century. It stands on a granite pillar beside the bricked-up lower gate of the church. The monument commemorating the end of the Second World War stands by the road.

Practical planning

The sports facilities at Pension U Čapků can also be used by the public by arrangement with the owners. If you would like to include this option in your plans, check current availability with the owners. This allows you to add this stop to your other excursion plans without assuming that the facilities can be used without prior arrangement.
