The chapel, mountain trails through forests and pastures, and the ruins of Nový Hrad offer a range of starting points for a trip to Kopřivná. You can compare architectural heritage with the landscape, or choose between marked routes of different lengths to reach the ruins. The municipality stretches along the road between Šumperk and Hanušovice and has a foothill-to-mountain character.

Chapel and landscape

The small Chapel of the Ascension of Christ is usually known as the Matzek Chapel. This rustic Neoclassical building stands alone at the edge of a field, beside a road. The chapel offers, among other things, a view of the Králický Sněžník massif. This brings together two perspectives at a named landmark: architecture as a cultural theme and the view of the massif as a landscape motif. If you would like to include a specific architectural feature as well as trails in your travel plans, the chapel is a clear point of reference. The Neoclassical style draws on ancient forms of design.

Mountain trails and seasonal use

The municipality has numerous trails for exploring and sightseeing. The mountain trails around Kopřivná pass through forests and pastures. A regional report from 2019 noted that these mountain trails were also frequently used by cross-country skiers in winter. Compared with the chapel, the focus thus shifts from a single building to the terrain and a seasonal activity.

The ruins of Nový Hrad

The ruins of Nový Hrad lie between Bohdíkov and Kopřivná and are freely accessible from several directions. Marked trails lead to the ruins from Raškov (1.2 km), Lužná (1.5 km), Bohdíkov (4 km) and Hanušovice (4.5 km). Raškov and Lužná are the shorter approaches, while Bohdíkov and Hanušovice are the longer ones. You can choose your starting point based on the stated route length. Trail conditions may change, so check them before setting out. The difference in length between the two shorter approaches is 0.3 km; between the two longer ones, it is 0.5 km.

Other destinations and travel planning

From Kopřivná, you can set out for the settlement of Prameny; nearby Velké Losiny is another possible destination. For both options, the destination itself is the main consideration, whereas at the ruins you can choose between several marked approaches. When searching for a holiday apartment, you can first decide what kind of stay you are planning: one centred on architecture, trails through the landscape, or several destinations. This way, you can focus your search on the interests that matter most for your trip.
