Písařov can be explored via marked routes and its local history. Cycling Route 6229 and the marked KČT hiking trail 4877/592b pass through the village; other points of interest include the listed farmhouse No. 104, a church dating from 1785, and the history of the partisan bunkers. This gives you two distinct interests to choose between when planning your trip: spending time outdoors or focusing on architectural and historical heritage. When looking for accommodation, consider which of these interests you would like to make more time for during your stay.

Cycling, Hiking and Elevation

Cycling Route 6229 runs through Písařov on the Cotkytle–Jedlí–Písařov–Čečel route. It follows a forest track toward Písařov, then continues along a class III road. Frequent ascents and descents and varied scenery characterize the route. It is suitable for more experienced cyclists. The changes in elevation therefore give you a practical way to gauge the route when choosing a cycling trip: it is better suited to an outing where regular climbs and descents can be part of the experience. Check whether this character matches your own plans.

At 839 m above sea level, Čečel is the highest point in the cadastral area of Písařov. If topographical landmarks are of interest when planning your trip, it provides a specific elevation reference for the area.

There is also a marked route through Písařov for those on foot: the KČT hiking trail 4877/592b. If you prefer hiking, you can include the village in your plans via this trail. The difference between the two activities is clear: the cycling route has frequent ascents and descents and is suitable for more experienced cyclists, while the marked hiking trail passes through the village.

Architectural History and Museum

Farmhouse No. 104 is a listed building. The Roman Catholic Church of the Sending of the Holy Apostles dates from 1785. The two buildings offer different ways to explore local history: the farmhouse is notable for its listed status, while the church has a specific historical date. If historical themes are part of your choice of destination, these buildings offer a distinct focus alongside the routes.

The school museum exhibition has been restored in the Písařov municipal office building. If you would like to include a museum visit in your plans, check in advance whether a visit is possible.

The History of the Partisan Bunkers

Two bunkers with different histories form part of the local story. Písařov’s largest partisan bunker had room for 30 people and was destroyed by the Nazis after a firefight on 24 May 1944. The “Balalajka” group’s bunker had room for 8–10 people, was never discovered by the fascists, and was restored in 1975. Together, the two accounts show a clear contrast: destruction following a firefight on one hand, and a bunker that went undiscovered and was later restored on the other.

Getting There by Bus

The Písařov, Kocanda bus stop is on Road I/11, where long-distance buses also stop. The stop’s name is a useful reference when planning your bus connection. Use it to look for a suitable connection, and check departure times for your travel date before setting off. This will help you factor your journey into your decision to stay in Písařov.
