An unusual historical site in Stavenice is Hradisko-Hradiště, also known as U Josefa. It is located on Hradisko Hill above the left bank of the Morava River, in the Doubrava forest and within the cadastral area of Stavenice. The two-part name is useful when identifying the site by its alternative name. Archaeological finds date Hradisko-Hradiště to the 10th century; pottery finds also indicate that the site was used in the second half of the 13th century. These dates serve different purposes: the finds date the site, while the pottery points to a later period of use.

Landscape Protection and Visitor Rules

Part of the cadastral area of Stavenice lies within the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area. The Doubrava Nature Reserve also includes land within the cadastral area of Stavenice. These are two different protected areas; moreover, the statement about the protected landscape area explicitly applies to only part of the cadastral area. In the Doubrava Nature Reserve, driving cars in, camping, picking plants, and collecting or disturbing animals are prohibited. Follow the posted rules when visiting. When planning your trip, it is important to distinguish between the protected-area designation and the specific rules of conduct: the restrictions apply to Doubrava.

Historic Sculptures in the Built-Up Area

In the built-up area, the Boží muka are particularly striking because of their size and impressive design. The Boží muka in the western part of Stavenice, between houses No. 1 and 40, date from the late 18th century and were restored in 2011. A stone cross near house No. 48 is a unique example of folk sculpture, dating from 1816 and made in the Empire style; it was restored in 2009. The crucifix with Christ is complemented by a Madonna with two angels and a relief of Saint Mary Magdalene. In the Chapel of St. Florian, a painting of Saint Florian hangs above the altar. The dates from the late 18th century and 1816 describe the works, while 2009 and 2011 are the dates of their later restorations. The cross has a multi-part iconographic program; the chapel has a single painting above the altar.

Cycling Route 51

For cyclists, a short section of Cycling Route 51 is specifically identified: it follows road III/31540 through the Stavenice area towards Třeština. The cycling route connects, among other places, Mohelnice and Třeština. The local section should be distinguished from the wider route: the reference to Stavenice concerns a short part of the route, while Mohelnice and Třeština mark the broader connection. Road conditions and signage may change; check the current route and signposting before setting out. An up-to-date route overview can help you place this section in your plans.
