Lhotka combines high points on Ondřejník with paths into the village and places for culture and sport. During your stay, you can focus on the mountain landscape or include the chapel, amphitheater and sports center. This choice of location brings together a connection to the landscape and local cultural themes.

High Points Around Ondřejník

The 890 m summit of Ondřejník offers wide views because it is almost completely devoid of trees. The municipality of Lhotka extends along the Ondřejník ridge to the 864 m-high Suché úbočí. Ondřejnické sedlo lies at 757 m, where the cadastral areas of Lhotka, Metylovice and Pstruží meet. The highest and southernmost point of the Lhotka cadastral area lies at 900 m and can be reached directly from the saddle.

The elevations refer to different points: the summit, ridge, saddle, and the highest and southernmost cadastral point. Together, they provide several specific reference points for anyone looking to understand Lhotka’s landscape, rather than viewing the place solely in terms of the summit views.

Trails, Antoníček and the Olešná Spring

At Antoníček, on the path from Ondřejník to Lhotka, a junction marked with a signposted cross leads to the village. The green-marked trail from there towards Lhotka takes you to the Pramen Olešné spring. Antoníček is therefore a landmark for the turn-off into the village and the route to the spring. Two benches there invite you to rest. If this resting place is important to your plans, check before your visit whether the seats are still there.

The stream that rises at Pramen Olešné flows through the eastern part of Lhotka, as well as through Metylovice and Palkovice; it then feeds the reservoir of the same name, which is used for recreation. This connection between the spring, stream and reservoir gives the watercourse its own place in the region’s landscape.

Another way to find your bearings is the 21 km cycling excursion “Okruh kolem Ondřejníku”. It includes a green-marked section that leads to Lhotka. The 21 km refers to the entire cycling excursion, not just this section. Check the current markings and route conditions before setting out.

The Chapel and Cultural Events

The “Kaple Navštívení Panny Marie” chapel in Lhotka was built in 1844 using donations. In 1925, monthly services began there, where possible, with the archbishop’s permission. The building’s history and religious practice of the time provide a historical connection for your visit, without implying that there is a current service schedule.

The “Amfiteátr U školy” amphitheater hosts cultural events, particularly the “Sochovy národopisné slavnosti”. The chapel and amphitheater represent different local themes: the history of a religious building on the one hand, and the use of a venue on the other. If you want to plan your trip around a specific festival, check its dates in advance.

Kuřín Sports Facilities

The “Sportoviště Kuřín” sports center has a multi-purpose pitch with artificial turf and a renovated grass football pitch. In 2020, a workout area, several outdoor exercise machines, an obstacle course, spring riders and a sandbox were also added. So, alongside the mountain landscape and culture, sport is another focus to consider when planning your trip. If you want to use a particular facility, check its current availability in advance.
