Two marked hiking trails provide clear guidance for a stay in Jablonná’s hilly countryside: a blue route crosses the municipality from north to south, while a green route runs east along its northwestern boundary. The area also offers varied landscapes, local history and regular bus services. If you’re looking for a holiday apartment, you can choose its location based on the excursions you have planned and how you’ll be travelling.

Two Marked Hiking Trails

The blue-marked route leads from Višňová via Jelence to the centre of the Horní Hbity district, then continues to Horní Líšnice and Solenice. It crosses the municipality from north to south. By contrast, the green route runs along the municipality’s northwestern boundary through the forest areas of Příbram, heading east via Obory to Hříměždice. The two routes therefore differ mainly in their direction and location: the blue route crosses the municipality, while the green route initially follows its northwestern boundary before heading east.

Check the signage locally. The route markers and the places mentioned above can help you find your way. This will help you distinguish the blue north–south route from the eastbound stretch of the green route when choosing between them.

Hilly Countryside and Watercourses

Jablonná lies in the Milínská vrchovina, a hilly region with prominent ridges, rock formations shaped by weathering and erosion, and deeply incised valleys of the Vltava and its tributaries. At 550.9 m above sea level, Velká Skála is a prominent feature of the landscape. The main small watercourses in the municipality include Chobotský potok and Vápenický potok.

The layout of the open countryside is also part of its character: a high proportion of scattered greenery enhances its natural quality, while small agricultural plots make up a large share of the area. Jablonná has a high-quality natural environment and a varied landscape suited to recreation. These features offer different ways to shape your stay, whether you prefer to focus on the hiking routes, the terrain or the open cultural landscape.

Local History and the Mill near Horní Hbity

Jablonná belonged to the Dobříš estate until the end of the patrimonial administration in 1850. The place name also points to an older linguistic layer: it is traced back to Old Czech words associated with the apple tree. This historical affiliation and the interpretation of the name offer two different insights into the history of the place.

The Dolejší mlýn mill is located near Horní Hbity. Its milling equipment is fully preserved, but the mill is not open to visitors. If you are interested in technical relics of local history, take this access restriction into account when planning your visit.

Plan Your Journey and Accommodation

Road II/118 is the main transport route through the municipality. Regular public bus services connect the area to the public transport network. Check the current timetable before travelling by bus. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can match its location to the places you plan to visit and plan your journey accordingly.
