Vilobí del Penedès combines wine and cava culture with scenic routes and the distinctive landscape of the pèlags. When choosing what to focus on, the options are easy to distinguish: the Ruta dels cellers takes in wineries, vineyards and farmhouses; at Parc dels Talls, lakes, trails and guided themed visits take centre stage. The town’s history includes the Refugi de la Guerra Civil; an architectural complex and a chapel with distinctive furnishings also contribute to its cultural offering. You can therefore tailor your stay to nature, wine or cultural heritage.

Landscapes and Trails at Parc dels Talls

The Ronda de Vilobí del Penedès crosses the entire municipality and its landscapes of vineyards, forests and Parc dels Talls. The Ruta circular pel Parc dels Talls offers a more focused theme: it passes through the various “pèlags” in the park’s natural surroundings. The park consists of four small lakes traditionally known as “pèlags”. Its unique landscape was shaped by many years of mining in Vilobí del Penedès.

The two routes differ above all in their scope: the Ronda passes through the landscapes of the whole municipality, while the circular route takes in the park’s lakes. Parc dels Talls has various routes for walking, running and cycling. Expert-led guided visits cover geology, biology or history. If you would like to join one, check the dates in advance.

Wine Routes and Local Cuisine

The Ruta dels cellers visits five wine and cava wineries and runs between vineyards and farmhouses. The route can also include a visit to Parc dels Talls. Before visiting the wineries, check which establishments are taking part. This lets you plan your wine route around participating wineries without assuming that any particular one will be open to visitors.

Restaurants in Vilobí del Penedès combine traditional and Mediterranean cuisine, adapting their menus to local and seasonal produce. A dated example of the connection between culture and gastronomy was the third edition of Vi en Femení, held on 23 May 2026. At the 3rd Mostra Enogastronòmica de Vi en Femení 2026, wineries, shops and local restaurants offered wine and regional products for tasting. The programme also included the children’s workshop “Tinta i vi”, where corks were used for recycling and creative activities.

Culture and Local History

The Refugi de la Guerra Civil is a ten-metre-deep, semi-underground tunnel made of brick and cement, leading to a rectangular air-raid shelter. During the Spanish Civil War, it was one of a group of shelters in the area of the former “Camp d'aviació”. It is the best-preserved of the three shelters still standing.

Santa Maria de Vallformosa is an architectural complex comprising a church, bell tower, bell-ringer’s house, rectory and auxiliary buildings. The Capella de Sant Pere has a rectangular floor plan, a flat-ended choir, a round-arched stone portal and a small bell gable. It also preserves a Baroque altarpiece dedicated to Saint Andrew, as well as a collection of missals with mother-of-pearl covers.

Exhibition and Year-Round Adventure

At the Centre de Benvinguda, the permanent exhibition “Les memòries del guix” traces the evolution of the landscape of Vilobí del Penedès. Another specific option to consider when planning your visit is “A la recerca dels Vitis”: the adventure is available year-round and starts at the entrance to Pèlag Sec. Visitors scan a QR code there to start the adventure at Parc dels Talls. Alongside scenic routes and guided visits, the area therefore also offers an activity with a clearly identified starting point.
