Castellví De Rosanes combines trails with views of Montserrat, medieval history and wine-making. Several thematic highlights come together for a stay: marked hiking and cycling trails, historic buildings and religious traditions, as well as wine and cava. Local landmarks range from Els Balcons de Montserrat to named areas such as Miralles and El Taió. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can first decide whether outdoor activities, cultural history or wine should shape your stay.

Trails, views and scenery

Els Balcons de Montserrat are two tourist facilities with views of Montserrat mountain. One is at the lower end of Avinguda Mare de Déu de Montserrat, and the other is in the municipal forest. The shared view of Montserrat is therefore a feature of two facilities in different locations.

Marked hiking and cycling trails along the Eix de Ponent del riu Llobregat pass through Castellví De Rosanes. From here, you can follow the route towards the Mediterranean or Montserrat. The trails provide a route for hikes and bike rides, while the directions offer a choice between two different destinations. The area of Castellví De Rosanes also lies within the surroundings of the Muntanyes del Baix natural area.

Fortress, monastery and historic sites

Castellvell de Rosanes, also known as Castell de Sant Jaume, is a fortress at an altitude of 369 metres. In the Middle Ages, Castellvell was the seat of the Barony of Castellvell. In Miralles, the castle was converted into the Augustinian monastery Casa de Déu de Miralles in 1414. Gothic paintings have been preserved in the Antic convent de Miralles, and their significance has been highlighted by the Generalitat de Catalunya. The historic highlights differ: at Castellvell, the fortress and its former role as a seat of power take centre stage; at Miralles, the focus is on the conversion of a castle into a monastery and the surviving paintings.

Visitor information for Les Fonts and Les mines

Historically, the Les Fonts de Miralles area included four named fountains: Ntra. Senyora de Gràcia, Sant Josep, Santa Rita de Càssia and Sant Nicolau de Tolentí. Access to the Les Fonts de Miralles area has been temporarily closed since February 2026 because of a landslide. Before travelling, check whether a reopening notice has since been issued.

Access to Les mines de plom is prohibited because the facilities are in a ruinous condition. While it was operating, the site was Catalonia’s second most important lead mine. Follow the signs on site and check for any later notices before setting out.

Wine and festival dates

Wine-making in Castellví De Rosanes makes it possible to produce wine and sparkling wine in the municipality. Celler i Museu del Vi Ramon Canals offers an expert-led tour followed by a tasting of its cavas and wines. Booking in advance is required; check beforehand whether a time slot is available.

The Aplec dels Àngels is a recurring religious festival tradition dating back to 1958, celebrating the Mare de Déu dels Àngels on 2 August. The Festa Major de Sant Isidre takes place on the last weekend of May, or, in election years, on the first weekend of June. If a festival date is central to your stay, check the exact date before travelling.

Getting there and finding your way

The C-243b road between Martorell and Gelida provides access to the town centre, El Taió, Miralles, the Rosanes industrial estate and the ca n'Abat industrial zone. This makes the road connection an important reference point for reaching places outside the town centre, too.
