At the Adventure Alpakas alpaca farm in the hamlet of Guggenhausen near Rorgenwies, you can learn more about alpacas. If you are interested in the animals, you can include this farm as a separate stop. Contact the farm in advance to ask about current visitor arrangements.

Hiking: route and current status

The “Südwind” circular hiking trail runs from Liptingen to Eigeltingen-Heudorf and back; you can also start in Eigeltingen-Heudorf. Check local conditions before setting out. The municipality of Eigeltingen opened the Krebsbachputzer premium hiking trail in 2015 and lists its length as 15 km. The municipality currently lists the trail as closed. This distinction is important when planning: you can choose Heudorf as your starting point for the Südwind, but you should only plan to hike the Krebsbachputzer after checking its current status.

Landscape and history nearby

The Krebsbachtal landscape conservation area lies north of Eigeltingen and was designated in 1940. Nearby, the reconstructed foundations of an outbuilding can also be viewed at the Eigeltingen Roman estate.
