Všemina combines marked hiking trails with local history that can be explored through its church, monuments and a former castle site. There is also the reservoir and activities involving horses. You can therefore plan your stay around nature, culture or a mix of both; the places and activities below each offer a different focus.
Hiking Trails and Viewpoints
The Všeminský trojlístek hiking network has 14 seating areas for hikers. Marked trails lead to places of interest and viewpoints around Všemina. The Red Clover Loop is the village’s most important and longest circular hiking trail; it passes the St. Hubertus Monument. This distinction can help with your choice: the network includes several types of destinations, while the Red Clover is highlighted as a single loop trail.
Church and Monuments
The parish Church of Saint John of Nepomuk was built between 1780 and 1784 as a simple Baroque structure of rubble stone and brick. Its organ was completed in 2010 and solemnly blessed on March 5, 2011. The church thus brings two clearly distinct historical periods into focus: the building’s construction and the later history of its organ.
The Železov Monument consists of two steel plates, each 2.4 metres high. Its defining feature is a cross of Saint John of Nepomuk, oriented toward the church in Všemina. While the church is characterized by its construction period and the history of its organ, the monument stands out for its material, height and the cross’s orientation.
Older Traces Between Všemina and Dešná
Hrádek is a former castle site between Všemina and Dešná. Archaeological research has revealed a settlement of the Púchov culture and traces of a palisade fortification there. The finds relate to two aspects: the settlement provides evidence of earlier habitation at the site, while the palisade traces indicate a fortification. This adds another strand of local history to the church and monuments.
Reservoir and Horse-Related Activities
The Všemina Reservoir is a multipurpose reservoir that serves, among other things, individual recreation and fish farming. Swimming and water sports are at your own risk. This condition is worth considering when deciding whether to include water activities in your stay.
Všemina Ranch offers horseback rides and trips into nature accompanied by an experienced instructor. A day at the ranch can also include horse care and training. Weekend courses focus on riding instruction. Horseback rides and trips are therefore different from a day spent on care and training or a weekend course. Check which activities are available before you travel.
Local Cuisine and Craftsmanship
In 2025, Všeminský kotlík held its second wild-goulash cooking competition. The dishes prepared were judged by both a professional jury and a public vote, combining expert opinion with public participation.
The traditional craft of making “čagany,” now practically forgotten, was once part of Všemina’s heritage. Alongside the culinary competition, this craft tradition also forms part of the village’s cultural history.
