Huntířov combines a strong connection to nature with historic details about the village. The municipality lies on the boundary of two protected landscape areas; in Stará Oleška, an important wetland and the Olešský Pond take centre stage. There are also excursions around the Kamenice River. Those planning a stay can consider nature, swimming and local history as different areas of interest.

Landscape and excursions

Huntířov lies on the boundary of the CHKO Labské pískovce and CHKO České středohoří protected landscape areas. This location is a distinct point of reference for travellers who take protected landscapes into account when choosing a destination. The Stará Oleška nature reserve is a separate feature: it is one of the most important wetlands in the CHKO Labské pískovce protected landscape area and provides an important refuge for numerous rare and endangered plant and animal species. This means there are two aspects to consider when choosing a nature destination: the protected-area boundary at Huntířov and the special importance of the wetland at Stará Oleška.

Huntířov is also a starting point for excursions around the Kamenice River. The Olešský Pond in Stará Oleška is considered suitable for swimming. In addition to nature and wetlands, visitors planning their stay around their interests will find a separate swimming option and a regional excursion destination.

Local history and buildings

The local history also includes churches that no longer survive. The former parish Church of St George in Huntířov dates back to the Middle Ages. A new Church of St George was built in Huntířov in 1883–1884, replacing the earlier Gothic church, which had burned down. This church no longer exists either. The details make both the medieval origins and the 1883–1884 rebuilding part of the local church history.

The Baroque rectory in Huntířov dates from the 18th century and has a sundial. In Nová Oleška, which belongs to the municipality of Huntířov, there is a 19th-century Church of the Holy Trinity. The local history can therefore also be understood through the contrast between the 18th-century rectory and the church, built later.

South of Huntířov, a Dutch-type windmill stands on Františkov vrch. It was probably built around 1850 and is made of rubble stone; in 2001 it was converted into a residential building. These details offer different kinds of historical information: the type identifies the mill’s architectural form, while rubble stone describes its material. The approximate construction date and the 2001 conversion mark two separate periods in its history.

Several memorial crosses are located around Huntířov. The village also has a rural homestead at house number 13.
