Mezihorí combines a clearly defined focus on winter sports with a local history grounded in specific dates, former names, and surviving buildings. When planning your trip, you can weigh up whether seasonal winter activities or historical landmarks should shape your stay.

Ski slopes and snowboard lessons

The Mezihoří ski area has two downhill slopes: one red and one blue. Two drag lifts serve the slopes. Operations are seasonal, so check that your planned travel dates align with the season’s offerings. Snowboard lessons are also available at the ski area; check what is offered in the relevant season if lessons are important to your trip.

Comparing two circular routes

The circular routes differ in length and graded difficulty. The 15 km Mezihořský vršek route is rated intermediate and runs around the areas of Mezihoří, Zákoutí, and Mezihořský vršek. The Mezihoří–Blatno route, listed as 3.5 km each way, is an easier alternative. It starts at the ski area opposite the bottom station of the large drag lift. Access conditions may change; check them before planning. The difference between the distance descriptions is important when planning: the 3.5 km applies each way, while Mezihořský vršek is described as a 15 km circular route. Both routes depend on snow; grooming is determined by the prevailing conditions. Check conditions for your dates before committing to a route.

Bus and parking at the ski area

The ski area can be reached by regular bus services, and you can also leave by bus. Since timetables can change, check the connection for your travel date, especially if your return journey is an essential part of your day’s schedule. Free parking is available to visitors at the ski area. As this service may change, it is advisable to check before travelling.

Founding date, chapel, and mill

Mezihorí was founded on 10 September 1577. Mezihoří was formerly known as Gerštofr, or Gersdorf in German. In the upper part of Mezihoří stands a chapel dating from 1900; it has been reconstructed, including its interior. The Griessel Mill, also known as the Höfer Mill, still stands today, and remnants of the millrace have survived. The 1577 founding date and the 1900 chapel provide two points of reference in time; the mill adds another surviving architectural landmark to the local history.

Choosing a holiday apartment based on your reason for travel

When looking for a holiday apartment, you can use the reason for your trip as your first point of comparison. Consider whether seasonal winter activities or local history should shape your stay, and compare the location and amenities of each specific property with your priorities. This lets you tailor your search to your planned activities without having to include both themes in every day of your trip.
