In Čejkovice, winegrowing, history and nature offer different reasons to visit. Alongside wineries and vineyards, you’ll find historic buildings, an immersive tour of tea production and the protected Špidláky area. Some events have a fixed annual date, while others require a tour or prior arrangement. This can help you decide what to focus on during your stay.

Winegrowing and a set festival date

The municipality lists more than 500 hectares of vineyards and several dozen wineries in Čejkovice. You can also visit local wineries throughout the year: winemakers welcome guests and present their wines. Arrange the visiting details with each winery before your trip.

A special date in the local calendar is the traditional kroj-clad Hody festival. The festival commemorates the consecration of the Church of St. Kunhuta and takes place every year on the third Sunday in August. If the Hody festival is the reason for your trip, check the date for your chosen year. This annual date provides a specific reference point for planning.

The church, Masaryk House and historic cellars

The Church of St. Kunhuta brings together two notable historical details. It points to a 13th-century foundation by German Templars; its 42-metre-high tower was added later, between 1890 and 1892.

The T. G. Masaryk House is a museum with a permanent exhibition about T. G. Masaryk’s life. It is the last surviving building in South Moravia where Masaryk lived during his childhood. Guided tours can be booked at the museum. As booking arrangements may change, check availability before you arrive.

The Templářské sklepy also have a long history: the historic cellars date back to the 13th century and can be visited on a guided tour. Tours can be booked by phone at +420 606 746 430 or by email at prodejna@templarske-sklepy.cz. This means that visiting the cellars differs from a visit without a tour: plan your visit around the guided tour on offer.

Tea production and protected hillsides

At SONNENTOR Bylinkový ráj, an immersive tour offers insights into tea production. A walk through the herb garden also leads to a viewpoint. The two experiences have different focuses: the tour looks at production, while the garden path highlights plants and the viewpoint.

For a nature-focused visit, include the Špidláky hillsides. They have been among the specially protected areas since 1992. The municipality lists more than 200 plant species there, including about 80 listed in the Red List of Threatened Species. These details give the nature area a different character from the tours focused on history and production.

Which focus suits your stay?

The attractions offer different planning cues: the Hody festival takes place on the third Sunday in August, while booking is the priority for tours of the Templářské sklepy or the T. G. Masaryk House. Wineries can be visited year-round, but you should arrange the details with each one. If you want to focus on nature and plants, you can pair Špidláky with information about its biodiversity. This lets you plan your trip around your interests without treating festival dates, guided tours and winery visits as equally flexible.
