Vřesovice offers a tangible connection to its culture through the Oldřich Pechal and Svatopluk Štulíř Memorial. The trails offer different points of interest: nature topics, tasks, QR content, or stories about an ancient landscape. Two questions can therefore help you plan: What focus would you like to give your stay, and which trail length suits your choice? The museum has a specific opening condition, while the hiking event is tied to a particular edition.

Memorial and Museum in the Municipal Office

The Oldřich Pechal and Svatopluk Štulíř Memorial is located on the first floor of the Vřesovice municipal office building. The Vřesovice Museum is the same local institution and is open during the municipal office’s office hours. Plan your museum visit around these hours and check the opening times before your trip.

Themed Educational and Hiking Trails

The Po hranici educational trail runs through the forests of the Chřiby Mountains and includes seven stops and three information boards. It thus combines a specifically named forest landscape with interpretation organized around stops and boards. This is a different approach from trails that focus on nature topics, tasks, or stories.

The Bobří stezka is a 2.8-kilometer children’s trail with questions, stops, and information about nature. Its children’s trail profile and focus on nature set it apart from the Oldřich Pechal Trail, which features tasks, photos, and audio recordings. The trails therefore emphasize different content: nature questions on one, and tasks and QR-accessed media on the other.

The Oldřich Pechal Trail is four kilometers long and has ten stops. It also features tasks, as well as photos and audio recordings accessible via QR codes. A brochure for this trail is available at the Oldřich Pechal Memorial; confirm availability before your trip. This lets you assess the trail by both its length and its stops and media.

The Magická stezka is 9.8 kilometers long. Its stops recall the mysteries and stories of this ancient landscape. Compared with the shorter Bobří stezka, it differs both in length and in the narrative character of its stops.

Zimní přírodou: the 2026 edition

The Zimní přírodou hiking event offers a different experience from the individual themed trails. In the 2026 edition, marked routes covered 5, 8, and 12 kilometers; registration and the finish were at the community center in Vřesovice. The event was held for the 22nd time in 2026 and organized by the Vřesovice local branch of KČT. These route distances refer to the 2026 edition. If you would like to plan your stay around an event date, check the dates for the relevant edition.

When choosing a route, consider the lengths of the individual trails alongside the event distances: the Bobří stezka is 2.8 kilometers, the Oldřich Pechal Trail is four, and the Magická stezka is 9.8 kilometers; Zimní přírodou offered marked routes of 5, 8, and 12 kilometers in 2026. The event edition is therefore distinct from the individual themed trails, whose content offers additional points of comparison.
