Radostice combines a rich local history with trails through the Bobrava Valley. You can explore nature and culture as distinct highlights: Bobrava Nature Park stretches across several municipalities, while the Church of St. Simon and Jude tells a specific story from Radostice. Local festival traditions also offer insight into the cultural life of the village.

Bobrava Nature Park and Landscape

Bobrava Nature Park is a generally protected area covering 30.90 km². It was designated on 1 January 1982 in the Brno-venkov District and extends across a wooded area between Ořechov, Střelice, Omice, Popůvky, Tetčice, Troubsko, Neslovice, Hlína, Silůvky, Prštice and Radostice. The park is therefore not limited to the village: its landscape and trails are part of an area that connects several municipalities.

Around Radostice, the landscape features include the meandering Bobrava River, meadows, wetlands and diverse riverside vegetation. Several old mills and a stone bridge add to the scenery. A number of hiking and cycling routes pass through the nature park, including a circular route through the park. When planning your trip, it is helpful to distinguish between a loop within the nature park and routes with named destinations.

Hiking and Cycling Routes

A blue-marked hiking trail runs past Radostický mlýn through the Bobrava Valley from Střelice to Želešice. The Přírodním parkem Bobrava cycling route also runs here. This educational cycling route reaches the outskirts of Radostice after Radostický mlýn, then continues upstream along the Bobrava Valley. Conditions along this section of the valley can vary depending on the season.

Another hiking option starts at the Radostice–railway stop trail sign: from there, a red-marked trail runs via the Kopaniny signpost and continues to Ivančice. The route information therefore varies according to the markings and trail course. If you are planning a specific route, check the signs on site; conditions can vary seasonally, especially along the valley section.

Church of St. Simon and Jude

The Church of St. Simon and Jude was founded in 1333 by the brothers Mikuláš and Petr of Radostice. A commemorative plaque set into the church wall recalls its founding. The building’s history also reflects several different periods: a Gothic choir dating from 1366 has been preserved; the present Baroque nave was built during the renovation of 1722, and the church was restored again in 1850.

These dates can be read as a sequence without confusing the individual building phases: the founding in the 14th century was followed by the Gothic choir, the Baroque nave and a later restoration. For anyone interested in the village’s history, the church is a specific point of reference, distinct from the landscape and routes in the nature park.

Festivals and Local Traditions

Festival traditions are also part of Radostice’s cultural character. Babské hody took place in 2023; another event was scheduled for 8 June 2024. Mladé hody were revived in 2023. The Masopust tradition, re-established in 2024, included a masked procession and traditional Ostatky celebrations with live music; another procession was planned for the following year. If you would like to plan your trip around an event, check the relevant dates separately.

Traditional Masopust foods in Radostice include zabijaÄŤka and trubiÄŤky. Together with the various festival traditions, they offer a distinctive glimpse into village life: the church conveys the history of the building and its founding, while the traditional Hody and Masopust reveal other aspects of local tradition. The nature park, routes and cultural history thus offer different points of interest to help you choose your stay in Radostice.
