Drnovice U Lysic brings together three distinct themes for planning a trip: architectural history, protected woodland and cycling. The late Gothic Church of the Holy Trinity, a protected farmstead and a Baroque statue give the cultural theme concrete expression; Lysická Obora and Lysicko Nature Park add a connection to the landscape. Cycle Route No. 5141 also passes through Drnovice.

A late Gothic church as a cultural and historical focal point

The Church of the Holy Trinity was built in 1526 on the site of an earlier chapel. It is late Gothic, a protected cultural monument and a rare type of church in the region. It was built outside the settlement in two construction phases. The complex includes a single-nave body, a five-sided chancel with a sacristy and a clock tower more than 34 metres tall. The church can therefore be understood both in terms of its date and its architectural layout: the year it was built, its predecessor and its individual components each offer a different perspective on its architecture.

Farmstead, village square and early history

The Panský zemědělský dvůr presents a different architectural form: residential and agricultural buildings surround a rectangular courtyard. This complex is also a protected cultural monument. On the village square, the Baroque statue of Saint Florian is a striking feature that shapes the space; it too is protected. The church, farmstead and square thus represent different forms of built heritage. A fortress is said to have already stood in Drnovice; it is first mentioned in 1391. Its first recorded mention predates the church’s construction and adds an earlier point of reference to the history of the village.

Woodland and park features in the landscape

Lysická Obora preserves an especially valuable and varied mix of cultural and near-natural woodland of different ages, old avenues and remnants of the original park. It is also a unique refuge for birds. As a natural monument, Lysická Obora extends into the cadastral area of Drnovice, with 1,108 ha of woodland. Lysicko Nature Park, by contrast, reaches into the municipality’s territory in its western part. Different landscape features thus meet here: the woodland and park elements of the Obora and the western part of the nature park within the municipality.

Cycle Route No. 5141

Cycle Route No. 5141 runs from Kunštát via Zbraslavec, Drnovice, Lysice, Žerůtky and Býkovice to Černá Hora. For cyclists, this sequence of places provides a concrete connection to the region and a named route that includes Drnovice. Cycle Route No. 5141 has six rest stops, five of them covered, twelve information boards and the necessary facilities. The route thus complements the cultural monuments and landscape themes with a distinct perspective for planning a cycling trip.
