The chapel, stone cross and war memorial give Týnišťko a distinct historical focus. There are also the Týnišťko pond and marked cycling and hiking routes. Architectural features and dates bring the village’s history to life; route destinations and junctions provide useful points of reference for planning.
Cultural history on the village green
The chapel with its bell tower is a Neo-Gothic building in a park on Týnišťko’s village green. The bell tower was built in 1838. A stone cross on a four-sided sandstone base stands in front of the chapel; it is surrounded by a fence. This makes it easy to distinguish the chapel’s architectural style from the materials and design of the cross.
The war memorial is located near the chapel. Made of sandstone, it features a relief of a soldier with a lion and the names of those honoured. The memorial to the people of Týnišťko who fell in the First World War was erected in 1923 with ten names and restored and repaired in 2004. The dates distinguish the original construction from the later restoration.
Rural architecture also has a specific point of reference: Property No. 8 is the only building in Týnišťko listed in the Czech Central Register of Cultural Monuments; it was placed under protection in 2005. Another building with a historic function stands on the Loučná at the southeastern edge of the built-up area. The former mill now serves as a small hydroelectric power station. Here, the building brings together its former use as a mill and its current role in generating energy.
The Týnišťko pond
The pond lies about 300 m northwest of the village centre and covers 0.94 ha. It was formerly also known as Leknínáč. A smaller part of the body of water lies within NRBC 10 Uhersko, while the larger part lies within LBK 1. This division offers another precisely located perspective on the landscape around the water. Parking motor vehicles on the pond’s dam is prohibited. Check access conditions before your visit.
Cycling and hiking routes
Nationally marked cycle route 4237 runs through Týnišťko. Its 15 km route runs between the Uhersko junction and the Sruby junction via Uhersko, Trusnov, Radhošť, Dobříkov and Sruby. Both the total distance and the sequence of named places are provided to help with navigation. Markings and the route may change; check the current route before setting out.
A blue-marked hiking trail also runs through Týnišťko. From Zámrsk railway station, it passes the northeastern edge of the built-up area of Týnišťko on its way to Horní Jelení, where it branches off. The two routes can be distinguished by their different reference points: for cycle route 4237, two junctions and the total distance are given; for the hiking trail, the railway station is the starting point and Horní Jelení is the destination, where the trail branches off. Check the current route before your hike as well.
