When choosing Petrovice for a stay, you can focus on a variety of options, from educational trails and views to seasonal sports activities. Both route details and the conditions of individual activities offer practical guidance: one educational trail is about 700 metres long and climbs up the ski slope; the educational trail at Zemská brána is three kilometres long. There is also an observation platform, historic buildings and activities at the České Petrovice sports complex.

Educational Trails and Routes

The Království přírodních sil educational trail consists of six stations with fun and educational features. It climbs up the ski slope, is about 700 metres long and has an elevation gain of 100 metres. Its length and ascent give you two specific points to consider when deciding whether to include this trail in your plans. The stations combine exercise with topics to discover and explore.

There is a separate three-kilometre educational trail at Zemská brána, which is suitable for families. Compared with the approximately 700 metres of the Království přírodních sil trail, this is a longer route; the 100-metre elevation figure, on the other hand, applies only to the shorter trail. At three kilometres, the Zemská brána educational trail is considerably longer than the approximately 700-metre Království přírodních sil trail; the 100 metres of elevation gain applies only to the shorter trail.

There is also a stone bridge at Zemská brána, connecting České Petrovice and Bartošovice. The area thus combines a designated educational trail with a striking structure, while the yellow “Petrovická” route follows a different course and starts at a different point.

Views at the České Petrovice Sports Complex

Rozhledna Amálka is a freely accessible observation platform on the roof of a wooden ski bar at the upper edge of the České Petrovice sports complex. It stands about seven metres above the ground and can be reached by climbing 34 steps. The upper viewing platform offers views of the Orlické Mountains and Poland. As access conditions may change depending on operations or safety requirements, check them before your visit.

Another route option is available at the endpoint of the Království přírodních sil educational trail: from there, you can continue on foot to Kašparova chata from the observation tower station. This is a practical option if you do not want the educational trail to be the only part of your route.

Summer and Winter Sports Activities

In summer, the sports complex’s activity zone includes an inflatable obstacle course, trampolines, summer tubing, water tubing, Zameták and a paddling pool. The zone is a summer offering; the availability of individual attractions may vary. You can also book mountain kart rides. If you want to plan your trip around a particular activity, check what is available for your travel dates.

The ski and snowboard equipment rental shop is located directly below the ski slope. It has more than 100 sets of equipment in various types, lengths and sizes, including equipment for children; stock may change. The service workshop sharpens and waxes skis and also offers a full service. Check the specific availability of equipment and services before your trip.

The sports complex also has a ski and snowboard school with a long tradition. Night skiing is available on selected days. As the current range of lessons depends on the season and no specific days are given for night skiing, it is worth checking the relevant dates before planning around them.

A Church, a Chapel and Another Route

The Catholic Church of St Peter and St Paul (Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla) is dedicated to the Apostles Peter and Paul. The original building dates from 1734. A different type of structure is the small stone chapel Kaple na Adamu, on the edge of the forest on Adam Hill, near the ski lift in České Petrovice.

The yellow “Petrovická” route starts in the centre of České Petrovice, at a trailhead with an information board. It is classified as moderately difficult and runs along class III/3112 and II/311 roads, as well as field and forest paths. This gives you the starting point, difficulty level and types of route sections for your planning.
