Cycling in Skřipov
Cycling route 6190 runs via Slatina and Vyškovice to Skřipov. Here it connects to cycling route 6078. The route descriptions differ in their practical details: route 6078 is described as paved and suitable for all types of bicycles. Route 6190 follows surfaced paths; in the Stará Ves–Výškovice direction, it has an uphill section. For comparison, this means that route 6078 is described in terms of its surface and suitable bicycle types, while route 6190 also has a specifically noted climb in one direction.
The descriptions of both routes were last updated on 19 September 2022. Surfaces and gradients can change as a result of maintenance. Check the route information before setting off.
Landscape and nature conservation
Skřipov lies in a predominantly agricultural landscape and is surrounded by mixed forests. Several ponds lie within the cadastral area. The Bílovka and Skřipovský potok also flow through Skřipov. Agricultural areas, forests, ponds and waterways are therefore distinct features of the local landscape.
The surrounding area is suitable for walks, relaxation, and picking mushrooms and other forest produce. Alongside the cycling connections, activities on foot and the landscape may also be reasons for choosing this destination.
The U Leskoveckého chodníka Nature Reserve covers 31.8826 hectares within the cadastral area of Skřipov. Its protected features include near-natural stands of acidophilous beech and partly preserved ash-alder communities in narrow stream valleys. Natural autochthonous stands of spruce, larch and fir are also protected there. Water features in different ways: in the form of ponds and streams flowing through the village, and as narrow stream valleys with partly preserved ash-alder communities within the reserve. General landscape features and specific protected forest communities thus sit side by side. Acidophilous means “adapted to acidic soils”; the term explains an ecological characteristic of the beech, while “autochthonous” refers to the native origin of the other tree stands.
Church and local history
Skřipov’s new church was completed in 1844 after three years of construction and was ceremonially consecrated on 1 September of the same year. For travellers who want to include a historical point of interest in their choice of destination, alongside cycling and the landscape, the church’s construction and consecration offer a specific point of reference.
