An 1847 colonnade and a starting point for Singltrek pod Smrkem reveal two sides of Lázně Libverda: spa history and outdoor activities. The options differ in form—from architecture and spa facilities to training stations and a 20-kilometre route.

Spa History, Colonnade and Baths

The first historical mention of Lázně Libverda dates to 1381. The two-winged colonnade was built in 1847 and features Doric columns with decorative belvederes. The two dates mark different historical reference points: 1381 is the first mention of the town, and 1847 is the year the colonnade was built. Its wings, columns and belvederes give architecture enthusiasts specific design elements to describe.

The baths are also part of the spa experience: the Uhličité koupele building has 17 tubs for carbon dioxide baths. A regional tourism publication from 2024–2025 describes the neoclassical château as a spa house. The colonnade, baths and château thus connect the history of the buildings with specific aspects of the spa town.

Outdoor Activities and Tours

Opened in 2026, the Fit stezka zdraví a poznání has eight modern stations for outdoor exercise. Use is free for visitors and local residents. Check the latest operating details before your visit.

The Relax stezka also offers outdoor exercise, complemented by a large memory game, reflex paths and activities for children. The two options therefore differ in form: the Fit stezka focuses on training stations, while the Relax stezka adds play and reflex elements.

There is a starting point for Singltrek pod Smrkem in Lázně Libverda. Singltrek pod Smrkem is the Czech Republic’s first Singltrek destination; its trail network lies below Mount Smrk, amid the wild nature on the northern slopes of the Jizera Mountains. The starting point in the town and the location of the trail network at Smrk are two distinct landmarks.

Another touring option is the Lázně Libverda–Smrk route. It is 20 kilometres long and of moderate difficulty. Alongside the individual exercise stations, this offers a route with a specified length and difficulty—another way to plan an excursion.

Excursion Destinations, Views and a Regional Specialty

The Obří sud excursion restaurant was built above Lázně Libverda in 1931. It is located on marked hiking and cycling trails and offers views of the Jizera Mountains. Its construction date, trail location and views provide different points of reference for planning an excursion, without prescribing a particular route.

A 2020 regional description notes that from Vyhlídka Libverdských pramenů, you can see the spa area of Lázně Libverda, including its colonnade and park, as well as the Jizera Mountains. From this viewpoint, you can look out over both the spa area and the mountain landscape.

On an excursion around Lázně Libverda, you can also try the Libverdky spa wafers. This adds a regional culinary element to excursion planning, alongside spa history, trails and views.
