The Bílá voda leisure area is 1.6 kilometres northwest of Chodov city centre. A circular trail around the reservoir, church architecture, exhibition spaces and the traditional Vavřinecká pouť offer different highlights for a stay.
Bílá voda: Circular Trail and Summer Activities
A 1.5-kilometre path runs around the reservoir and is equipped with fitness equipment. This means the route combines a walk by the water with opportunities to exercise at the stations. Its length gives the activity a clear framework; whether you plan to walk the path on its own or use the fitness equipment is up to you.
In summer, Bílá voda also has a pontoon, refreshments, changing rooms and a well-maintained sandy beach. These seasonal amenities complement the path with a stay by the water. If you would like to include both the circular trail and the beach in your plans, take both into account; check which seasonal facilities are available before your trip.
The pump track u Bílé vody opened on 2 June 2018. It was intended for bicycles, skateboards, longboards, inline skates and scooters. If you are planning a specific visit, check current access before including the pump track as an activity.
Churches, Gallery and a Traditional Event
The Baroque Church of St. Lawrence in Chodov was built between 1725 and 1733. In a separate Protestant church, the pulpit, pews and interior doors have been preserved. The staircase leading to the gallery, with its metal-decorated railing, is also among the surviving details of this Protestant church. Thus, the construction period of a Baroque church and the specific interior furnishings of a Protestant church provide distinct points of interest in the area’s cultural history.
The Galerie u Vavřince has exhibition spaces on the second floor. Together with the churches, it offers another cultural point of interest in Chodov: these are not church architecture or furnishings, but spaces for exhibitions.
The traditional Vavřinecká pouť brings the Staroměstská and Bezručova streets in Chodov to life. Its exact dates and programme vary from year to year. If the festival is a reason for your stay, check the dates and programme information for the period you have in mind.
