There are various ways to shape a stay in Tehov: explore architectural history, attend local events, get active in the sports and bike park, or follow a route past forest ponds. The Church of St. John the Baptist and the linden tree north of the village offer different historical perspectives. Other options include a treasure hunt that starts and ends in the village square, and visitor experiences at Farma Tehov. If you are looking for a holiday apartment, you can start by choosing the themes that will shape your stay.

Church History and a Memorial Tree

The Church of St. John the Baptist was originally Gothic and was extensively remodelled in the Baroque period. This marks two clearly distinct architectural phases: its Gothic origins and its far-reaching Baroque transformation. The linden tree near the roadside shrines at U Křížku, on the hill north of Tehov, offers a different historical focus. In January 2017, it was declared a memorial tree of the Czech Republic. The church highlights architectural development, while the linden tree is notable for its memorial status and the specific date it was granted. These are two different ways to explore cultural and historical themes.

Village Square and Local Events

The treasure hunt “Putování Tehovem za pokladem” (A Treasure Hunt Around Tehov) starts at the school in the village square and ends there as well. The square is therefore both the starting point and the finish. The Tehovský kulturní spolek organises cultural events such as Christmas and Easter markets, the burning of the witches, Shrovetide celebrations and a dragon day. These events range from markets to festivals with their own distinct themes. If you have a particular event in mind, check the latest dates before your trip.

Bike Park and Forest Ponds

Tehov’s sports and bike park has a pump track with an integrated dirt-jump track. It is freely open to the public all year round, although individual areas may close for maintenance. The dirt areas may also be closed after rain or during maintenance. Check the municipality’s notices before visiting, especially if you plan to use the dirt areas.

The route “Okolo Tehova za přírodou i historií” (Around Tehov for Nature and History) offers another way to explore the landscape. It passes the two forest ponds of Jedlice and V Doubí. In the area around Tehov, there is also a shelter by the Jedlice pond where you can stop for a snack. The route and the shelter are two separate points of interest: the route is characterised by its two named forest ponds, while the shelter offers a place to rest by Jedlice.

Visitor Experiences at Farma Tehov

Farma Tehov has a small dairy that processes milk from eight cows, as well as a self-service snack bar. Confirm the current visitor arrangements before your visit. The farm regularly holds open days and events for children; if you would like to plan your stay around one of these events, check the latest calendar. This distinguishes the visitor experiences from the regular events without assuming specific dates.

An Active Settlement Nearby

The settlement of Spojené osady Údolí Raků is located near Tehov. It was formed from the neighbouring settlements of Údolí Raků, Miriam and Zapomenutých, and continues to hold sports tournaments and races. Its origins and its ongoing events offer two different insights: into how the settlement was formed and into its present-day community life.
