Petříkov combines a distinctive local history with a landscape of fields, pastures and extensive woodland. For your stay, three areas of interest can be distinguished: historic monuments and memorials, nature in the municipal area, and cycling activities. Historic sites and landscape features complement one another, but address different questions when planning a trip. This way, you can organise the topics to suit your interests.

Bell Tower and Memorials

The bell tower is one of the municipality’s three historic monuments. It was consecrated in 1913, restored in 2014 and supplemented with an image featuring a religious motif. The two years mark different milestones for the same building: its consecration and a later restoration. Anyone interested in religious buildings and local history will find a specific point of reference here.

The war memorial was moved to its present location in the park in the centre of the village in 1962. It lists a total of 16 residents of Petříkov and Radimovice who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars. The number and the two place names give the memorial a community connection that extends beyond Petříkov.

The iron cross stands on the right-hand side of the road towards Radimovice. It depicts Christ as a young man and bears the inscription INRI. This distinguishes it thematically from the war memorial: the memorial focuses on residents who lost their lives in two world wars, while the cross’s religious motif is defined by its depiction and inscription.

Landscape and Nature Park Boundary

The municipal area of Petříkov borders the northern boundary of Velkopopovicko Nature Park. The landscape within the municipality includes fields, pastures and extensive woodland. One of the five ponds there is Starý rybník. Together, these different landscape features show how Petříkov can be understood not only through its monuments but also through its natural environment.

The Čertovka forest also links the landscape with local tradition: according to local tradition, ramparts attributed to a former fortress are still visible there. This attribution remains part of the tradition; the ramparts and their connection to the former fortress together form part of the local story.

Cycling Route and Bus Connections

Local cycling route 0028 runs through Modletice, Popovičky, Radimovice, Petříkov and Velké Popovice. If you are planning a specific cycling trip, check the current route, as routes can change.

A cycling trip following in the footsteps of the Ringhoffer family uses a blue hiking trail through the park and cycling route 0028 to Petříkov and Radimovice. This differs from simply following route 0028: the trip is linked to a family theme and also includes the blue hiking trail through the park.

Petříkov is connected to the Prague Integrated Transport system (PID) by suburban bus services. There is also a bus connection throughout the day to the nearby Strančice railway station. Check the current timetable and connections before travelling, as transport services can change. This means you can factor the bus connections into your travel plans separately from the cycling options.
