Nedomice offers two distinct perspectives for a stay: the protected Cecemín landscape and the history in the village centre, where the bell tower and memorial are close to one another. The village’s agricultural character is another feature. If you are looking for an apartment, you can plan your stay around whether the landscape, local history or your journey there will play the biggest part.

Landscape and access at Cecemín

The registered significant landscape feature Cecemín extends across parts of the cadastral areas of Nedomice, Dřísy and Všetaty. It includes the terraced slope of Cecemín between Všetaty and Dřísy. The slopes are protected as a registered significant landscape feature and include a regional biocentre. Cecemín is home to thermophilous grass and herb communities of the alliances Festucion valesiacae and Bromion erecti, known as the “white slopes”.

Access arrangements are important for visitors: within the landscape feature, movement is permitted only on foot along a partly surfaced farm track. Take this restriction into account when planning and check the access arrangements before your visit.

Bell tower and village history

In the centre of Nedomice, the bell tower stands on the site of an original wooden bell tower. The memorial to those who fell in the First World War is located near the tower. It was unveiled on 26 July 1925 and bears the names of sixteen Nedomice residents who died in the war. The two sites reflect different aspects of history: the tower recalls its wooden predecessor, while the memorial commemorates the residents who fell in the First World War.

Getting here and finding your way

Public transport in Nedomice is provided by two bus routes. Stops are located near the school and in the village square by the cross. Rail access is via the station in nearby Ovčáry, about 500 metres from the village centre. The arrival points mentioned are therefore different: the bus stops are in Nedomice, while the station is in the neighbouring village. If you travel by train, include Ovčáry as your station location in your plans; if you travel by bus, the two stops mentioned are the village’s points of reference. Check the timetables before your trip.

A blue-marked tourist route runs along the eastern side of Nedomice’s cadastral boundary. Check local access before planning a trip along this route.

Agriculture in the area

A farm in Nedomice currently cultivates about 50 hectares of land, growing traditional vegetables and herbs. This gives the village’s agricultural character a tangible connection to farming today. The Jakubec family continues a farming family tradition in Nedomice and the surrounding area, dating back to the first half of the 20th century.
