Trubská combines a clearly defined hiking route with surroundings of forests, meadows, and pastures. The Trubská Questing Trail is 3.7 km long; the starting point, game map pickup, and elevation profile provide specific details to help with planning. There is also a local biocentre, a nearby forest, and a gorge with a trilobite fossil site. If you are considering Trubská as a destination, you can weigh up whether the hike, the landscape, or a summer swimming option best suits your interests.
Getting There and the Landscape
The road into Trubská follows a single road that branches off the Králův Dvůr–Hudlice road. In terms of its landscape, the village lies on the southwestern edge of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. This gives you two distinct points of reference for orientation: the specific access road and the village’s location on the edge of the protected area.
The surrounding area consists mainly of municipal forests, meadows, and pastures. The Dubová forest and the Hořecká Gorge are also near Trubská. The gorge contains a trilobite fossil site. The landscape therefore ranges from the widespread forests and grasslands to a specifically named geological site.
The local “Dibeř” biocentre covers 3.0 ha of meadows in the floodplain of the Dibří Stream. It adds a named area in a precise location by the stream to the general description of the surroundings. When considering the landscape, you can therefore take into account not only forests, meadows, and pastures, but also a specific meadow area in a stream floodplain.
The Trubská Questing Trail
The Questing Trail starts at a turning area at the end of the village, next to an information board; visitors can pick up game maps there. The route passes through the forests of Trubská and over Dubový Hill. It is designed as a hiking route for families with small children. The starting point and map pickup are therefore in the same place, while the route itself runs through the forest and over the named hill.
The route is 3.7 km long, with 106 m of ascent and 110 m of descent. The two elevation figures are close, indicating a similar scale for the ascent and descent. Together with the route length, they give a more specific picture of the profile: the distance describes the length, while the elevation figures add the changes in ascent and descent.
Summer Swimming and Cycling
The Dibeřský Stream flows below Trubská. A fire brigade water reservoir beside it is used for swimming in summer. This swimming option is seasonal and may therefore play a role in choosing when to travel. It is a different focus from the hiking route: there, the distance and elevation profile take centre stage; here, it is the stream and the reservoir’s summer use.
Cycling is also possible on marked routes and trails in the area around Trubská. This provides another way to experience the landscape while on the move, in addition to the specific hiking route. When choosing a stay, you can consider hiking, cycling, and summer swimming as separate interests rather than planning them as a fixed itinerary: which matters most depends on whether the route, the landscape, or the seasonal swimming option is the deciding factor.
