If you want to explore Mölle on foot, you can compare a hike towards Kullens fyr with the longer Kyrkstigen trail. There is also the history of the seaside resort, various bathing spots and activities on the water. This makes it easy to choose based on whether a shorter hike or a longer route better suits your stay.

Hiking between Mölle, Arild and Kullens fyr

The hike from Mölle to Kullens fyr is about 4 km long. A longer option goes via Arild and back to Mölle via a shortcut; it is 16 km in total. The difference between around 4 and 16 km makes choosing a route primarily a matter of how long a hike you want.

The Kyrkstigen starts behind Mölle Chapel and follows existing forest paths along the mountain. It is marked in both directions and can be walked in full or in shorter sections. The trail is about 8 km long, of which 6 km is the section from Mölle Chapel to Arild Chapel. Trail status and conditions can change; check both before setting out.

Seaside resort history and architecture

Mölle Chapel was completed in 1935 and built from Höganäs bricks. It has remained unchanged since it was built. Mölle’s distinctive townscape was strongly shaped by early seaside resort architecture, with hotels, restaurants and summer houses. Around the turn of the 20th century, Mölle was a day-trip destination and seaside resort with almost 3,000 bathers a year. The Höganäs–Mölle railway line opened in 1910. The chapel dates from a later period than Mölle’s seaside resort history around 1900: it was completed in 1935. This helps distinguish the town’s earlier role as a day-trip destination from the chapel’s later construction date, rather than treating them as the same period.

Nature, swimming and activities on the water

At Naturum Kullaberg, visitors can learn about nature, find inspiration and get tips for exploring the area. Naturum is also a starting point for guided tours through the park, on land or from the sea. A little north of Mölle, Ransvik is a rocky bathing spot in the Kullaberg Nature Reserve.

Mölle offers several bathing options: a bathing jetty, a rocky beach, a shingle beach and an outdoor swimming pool. As facilities can change, check the current situation before visiting. Stand-up paddleboarding starts at Mölle harbour and offers a chance to experience the mountain from the water. Kayaks can be rented in Mölle or Arild; in Mölle, they are stored in a storage facility behind the restaurant buildings.

Bus 202 runs from Mölle to the car park by the lighthouse on Kullaberg in summer. Check the current operating period for the summer service before travelling.
