The Harlösabäcken stream flows through Harlösa. The village also has an exceptional station house, church history and several routes that include it as a starting point or landmark. If you are considering Harlösa as a place to stay overnight, you can first decide whether you would rather explore architectural and cultural history or make time for hiking and views. The local attractions and named trails offer different starting points for planning your visit.

The Station House and Church History

Harlösa's station house was built in an Art Nouveau style that is rare for buildings of this kind and is particularly well executed. It was built for the Landskrona–Kävlinge–Sjöbo railway: construction began in May 1905, and the building was completed in December 1906. Today, the building is used as a library.

Harlösa Donationshus is now a museum showing what 19th-century care for the elderly, or the poorhouses of that time, may have looked like. Harlösa kyrka also brings together different historical periods: it was probably built around the year 1200 as a Romanesque stone church with an apse. The pulpit was originally a gallery pulpit in the triumphal arch between the nave and the choir. The woodcarver Jacob Kremberg created it in 1641; 17 years later, it was painted and gilded.

Hiking Trails and Views

The Sankt Olofleden pilgrimage trail passes Harlösa kyrka. The Skåneleden hike between Löberöd and Harlösa can begin in Harlösa; both villages have a bus stop. If you plan to take the bus, check the timetable for your travel date. Another route option is Skåneleden Nord till syd: it reaches Harlösa after Hjularöds slott and continues south towards Krankesjön.

The Bligehöj viewpoint is next to Harlösa kyrka, north of Harlösa. It is a popular spot with wide-ranging views over the lakes and heathland of the P7 Revingehed training area. Borstbäcken Nature Reserve lies five kilometres east of Harlösa; an approximately eight-kilometre circular trail runs around the reserve. Terrain conditions may vary. Check them before setting out.

Events Throughout the Year

Harlösadagen takes place every year on 6 June and ends at 3 pm with Sweden's largest and longest tractor parade. The parade starts at Nostalgimacken and travels in procession through Harlösa. The Krankesjön Runt cycling race takes place every year in August or September, starting and finishing at Svens Bränneriet. The two events offer different seasonal options for planning your trip. If you are travelling specifically for an event, check the details for your travel year.

A Camping Option Nearby

Höghult campsite is located between Harlösa and Löberöd. It has a toilet, barbecue area, water and a wind shelter. Facilities may depend on local upkeep; check their condition before your visit.
