A 4.5-kilometre walking trail runs through Eslövs allmänning, a municipal nature reserve in the southwest of Eslöv. It is part of the so-called Park Walk through several parks in Eslöv. Hälsans stig also passes through the same area: a six-kilometre circular route with markers at every kilometre. The trails therefore differ both in length and in their described format. If you’re looking for a circular route with regular kilometre markers, Hälsans stig offers clear guidance; the walking trail’s distinctive feature is its connection to the Park Walk. Trail conditions can change, so check them before your visit.
Nature reserves and trails in Eslöv
On the edge of Eslöv lies Abullahagen, with the small lake Långakärr, which attracts many birds. The nature area also has a long history: it contains graves of people who lived as far back as the Iron Age. Abullahagen can be reached on foot, by bicycle, by public transport or by car. As transport options can change, it’s worth checking current options before setting out.
Husarängen offers a different kind of activity: it is a recreation area in Eslöv with illuminated fitness and exercise trails. The city thus offers both named walking trails through a nature reserve and routes for exercise and fitness. In the Trollsjöområdet, meanwhile, Sahlins park, Ekenäs and Skytteskogen are connected. There is an 18-hole disc golf course there, and the playground at Trollsjön has a wheelchair-accessible swing.
Local history, architecture and art
Eslövs stadsmuseum is housed in a merchant’s house dating from 1892. Its exhibition Eslövsresan traces the city’s development from the first decade of the 20th century through the major changes of the following century. The museum presents exhibitions, lectures and other events throughout the year; the specific programme varies. If you’d like to explore local history further, you can consult the municipal archives in person in Eslöv by appointment.
Medborgarhuset is an architectural heritage site visited by students and architecture enthusiasts from all over the world. It was inaugurated on 28 September 1957. Today, it hosts concerts, exhibitions and theatre performances, with a programme that changes over time. Eslövs kyrka is another striking architectural landmark: this red-brick cathedral was built in the Gothic style and has a tall, pointed tower on its west side. It was inaugurated on 29 November 1891. Music events there include concerts and Saturday music; check the events calendar for specific dates.
In the Gjutaren district, Artscape Eslöv has created a free outdoor gallery and an art walk featuring nine artworks and installations. The works are part of the city’s public art collection and can be visited free of charge around the clock. Here, you can experience art on a walk, while the museum and architecture offer other ways to explore the city’s history.
Leisure, water and local production
There are two different ways to enjoy film: Eslövs Filmstudio screens films at Bian on Mondays at 7 pm, while Bian cinema shows current releases in the evenings and at weekends. Film programmes can change, so check the dates in advance. Karlsrobadet aquatic centre has four water slides and a children’s splash pool with water at 32°C. Facilities and temperatures can change.
There are also activities outside the city, within Eslövs kommun. Fishing is possible in Lakes Ringsjön and Vombsjön and in parts of the Kävlingeån River. You can canoe on the Rönne å between Ringsjön and Ängelholm; water conditions and operator offerings can change. The north–south SL2 section of Skåneleden runs through Eslövs kommun, with scenic stretches in Harlösa and Löberöd. These activities across the municipality complement the trails and leisure spots in Eslöv without being presented as a single excursion.
Local culture also includes food and drink production: Eslöv has a tradition of food production and a connection between food craftsmanship and beverage production. Maya choklad in central Eslöv makes chocolate from scratch using organically and ethically grown cocoa beans. If you’re planning to visit, check the current availability of the offering.
