Eslöv offers two different perspectives on the town: historic buildings tell the story of several periods of construction, while the nature reserve and park offer their own opportunities to spend time outdoors. You can tailor your stay to your interests rather than treating all the sights as a single itinerary.
A closer look at Eslöv’s architectural history
The Eslöv City Museum is housed in a merchant’s house dating from 1892 at Östergatan 5. The Eslövsresan exhibition takes visitors through a series of themed displays and traces Eslöv from the first decade of the 20th century as it transitioned from an agricultural to an industrial society. The major changes of the following century are also part of its historical narrative. At this address, a building from the late 19th century and an exhibition about the social changes of the 20th century come together.
Eslöv’s railway station is a listed building. Built in 1914, it is the third station building on this site. Its transport history includes a special detail: it was the first railway station in Sweden with a grade-separated tunnel providing access to the platforms for passengers and their luggage.
Medborgarhuset was inaugurated on 28 September 1957 and is now an architectural heritage site. Students and architecture enthusiasts from around the world visit the building. Eslöv Church offers a different architectural accent: the Neo-Gothic brick church is known for a style described as “Eslöv Gothic.”
Stenberget also has a specific building story to tell. Brewery director Christian E Nilsson, also known as “the King of Eslöv,” built it in 1887 using stones left over from the construction of his villa. Eslöv’s architecture therefore brings together different themes: protected buildings, a distinctive style name and the reuse of building materials.
The dates provide a chronological overview: Stenberget dates from 1887, the merchant’s house from 1892, the railway station was built in 1914 and Medborgarhuset was inaugurated in 1957. Together, these examples span several decades of architectural history, even though they do not belong to a single building type.
Nature, parks and other things to do
Eslövs allmänning, also known as Fäladen, is a nature reserve in the centre of Eslöv. It has walking trails, benches and a barbecue area. As a nature reserve, Fäladen differs in designation from the Trollsjöområdet, a large park area around Trollsjön in Eslöv.
The Trollsjöområdet has an 18-hole disc golf course with holes of varying lengths. Trollsjön playground has swings, a trampoline, slides and a climbing tower with a climbing route and climbing ramp. These two attractions offer concrete options for different interests: disc golf on the one hand and the playground’s facilities on the other.
Bian Cinema is located at Köpmansgatan 8 in central Eslöv and offers afternoon and evening screenings. When planning your stay, you can also weigh up a cinema visit alongside the architectural and green-space attractions mentioned, without needing to follow a set itinerary.
