The fine sandy beach is Miramar’s main tourist attraction: it is around 50 m wide and 1.3 km long. The promenade, cycling and circular routes, local history and recurring events also offer various ways to enjoy a stay. Sea views, exercise, local culture and seasonal experiences all come together here.
Views and routes
From the Passeig MarĂtim on Playa de Miramar, the view stretches east across the Mediterranean, south towards MontgĂł, and north towards the port of Gandia and the Cullera lighthouse. To the west are the La Safor mountains and the fertile orange groves at their foot. These directions frame a panorama of sea, port, mountains and farmland.
The almost 3,000 m-long Sendero Azul Camà Sequia Mare is a circular route that starts at the tourist information office on the beach. The path has been adapted for people with reduced mobility; its amenities include shaded rest areas, signs and several information boards. The Sender de la Séquia Mare also offers the chance to observe Miramar’s characteristic huerta landscape.
Miramar can also be reached by bicycle: a network of cycle paths and rural roads connects the town with Gandia, DaimĂşs, Guardamar de la Safor, Bellreguard, Piles, Alqueria de la Comtessa and Oliva. The Pump Track offers another way to get active. It is at the northern entrance to the industrial estate and opened as a new skate track in 2025. The track is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year; benches and picnic tables are also available.
Townscape and local events
The Iglesia de San AndrĂ©s is an 18th-century Baroque building, erected over the original church dating from 1535. The historic, irregular street layout includes Iglesia, Trapig and Raconet squares, as well as Mayor and AbadĂa streets. There is a sundial in Parc de Llevant.
The Jornades Gastronòmiques de Miramar take place every year in March. They showcase polp farcit and coca borratxa. Another annual event is the Fira de Sant Andreu, held around 30 November, the feast day of the municipality’s patron saint. The three-day fair includes a food fair and theatrical walking tours. As the exact event dates can vary from year to year, check the current dates if you are planning a trip specifically to attend.
The municipality’s leisure programme includes sports activities, evening musical performances, exhibitions, traditional markets and open-air cinema. The specific dates may change. If there is a particular event you would like to attend, it is worth including it in your plans before travelling and checking the relevant dates.
Outdoor leisure
Parc del Riuet has sports facilities and a large stage for concerts and live music. The Parc dels Somnis recreation area has five barbecue spots and five picnic tables. Reservation requirements for the barbecue area may change; check them before use. The playground there has wooden play equipment, swings, a slide and a zip line.
The Piscina Municipal at Esportiu El Molà is a 1,500 m² outdoor semi-Olympic sports facility. Opening dates, entry requirements and prices may change; check before visiting. Miramar also offers bathing assistance for people with reduced mobility, provided by municipal staff and using an amphibious wheelchair and water crutches. Seasonal operating periods may vary.
