The Ruta de les barraques de vinya leads to Turó de la Gatzarella, where you can see shelters dug into the rock face. This route combines a hike with a tangible reminder of local history. In Castellbisbal, you can also focus your stay on agricultural traditions, architecture or festivals.

Walking and Mountain Biking Routes

The municipality offers up to seven routes across its entire area. They are designed for hiking and can also be explored by mountain bike. When planning, first consider whether you would like to explore the area on foot or by bike. The Pels verals de Castellbisbal route passes agricultural land and heads towards Serra de Can Galí. This gives it a different focus from the Ruta de les barraques de vinya, which ends at the rock shelters on Turó de la Gatzarella. The two routes can be distinguished by their stated themes; include both in your day’s plans only if that suits your trip.

Agriculture and Machinery

The Museu de la Pagesia explores rural life, fieldwork, transport and markets. The museum was founded in 1985 with local donations of agricultural tools and objects from everyday farming life. Its three themed sections provide an overview of more than 900 years of agricultural tradition in Castellbisbal. The exhibits take you from life in the countryside to work in the fields and then to transport and markets—helpful if you would like to explore different aspects of this history.

The Museu del Tractor d'Època offers a different perspective on agriculture. Its collection spans more than a century of tractor history and includes over 100 machines across 2,000 m². If you plan to visit this museum, check the latest visitor information in advance.

Architecture and Historic Sites

A monumental triumphal arch stands at the eastern end of the Pont del Diable in the municipality of Castellbisbal. Its footprint measures 9 × 10.6 metres. The Pedrera de Can Campranyà is also connected to the Pont del Diable: the quarry was already used in Roman times to obtain stone for parts of the bridge.

A virtual reconstruction places Castell de Castellbisbal in the 1340s at Serrat de les Garses, where the Ermita de Sant Vicenç now stands in Parc de l'Ermita. The former parish church of Sant Vicenç del Castell became a hermitage after the new parish seat was moved to the town centre. Sant Joan de Benviure is considered a Romanesque chapel. Can Pedrerol de Baix, meanwhile, is considered a late-built masia, a traditional Catalan farmhouse. Modernist additions were later commissioned for the building from the architect Antoni Maria Gallissa i Soqué.

River Landscape, Festivals and Getting There

The section of the Llobregat bordering Castellbisbal and Martorell lies within the Montserrat - Roques Blanques - Riu Llobregat Natura 2000 protected area. Alongside the architecture and museums, this gives you the option of exploring a protected stretch of river or routes through the vineyards during your stay.

The Empaitafoc is one of the main events in Castellbisbal’s Festa Major d'estiu and ends with dancing in Plaça de l'Església. The Festa Major de Sant Vicenç is the town’s other major festival. It includes a solemn Mass and popular events such as concerts, dances and football matches. If you would like to plan your trip around a festival, check the event dates before you make your plans.

Castellbisbal can be reached by road, RENFE and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat. When planning your hotel and trip, you can first decide whether you would like to focus on routes, agriculture, architectural history or a festival. If travelling by train, check the timetable for your specific travel date.
