Chayofa brings together animal encounters, tennis and skywatching in one place. If you’re looking for accommodation in Chayofa, you can base your choice on your plans: would you like to focus on learning about animals, getting active on a course, playing tennis or joining a guided stargazing session? Jungle Park and Monkey Park offer different experiences, alongside tennis facilities and routes connected to the Vilaflor Route and the Arona–Vilaflor Route. The activities differ both in subject and format.

Animal parks: activity, knowledge of species and habitats

Jungle Park is located on the Carretera TF-28 Los Cristianos–Arona, at Kilometer 3, in Urbanización Águilas del Teide, s/n, Chayofa, 38640 Arona, Tenerife. Its Jungle Raid is a 300-metre-high ropes course with suspension bridges, dark tunnels and narrow passages. Animal Passport offers a different kind of experience: a professional falconry team shares information about birds of prey, and the experience also offers the chance to interact with meerkats and squirrel monkeys. Specially designed enclosures with vegetation, waterfalls, rivers and lakes recreate habitats in Borneo and Sumatra. This means that the same park offers a trail with distinctive structures, an animal experience that combines interaction with learning, and recreated habitats to suit different interests.

Monkey Park, at Camino Moreque Llano Azul 17 in Chayofa, Arona, has a different focus: it is dedicated to the protection, breeding and care of endangered species, and provides a home for rescued animals. During a visit, you can learn more about the origins, diet and conservation status of the species. Monkey Park is fully accessible to wheelchairs, powered mobility aids and strollers. Public bus route 467 can be used to get there; check the route’s current service before travelling.

Stargazing and tennis in Chayofa

Star Excursions offers private stargazing sessions and group observations in Chayofa. A Starlight Guide leads the sessions using a motorised 8-inch telescope. The offer also includes transport from your accommodation to the observation point and back in a luxury minibus. If you plan to use this transfer, confirm the current observation and transport details before booking.

Tenerife Tennis Academy is located at Calle El Morro 2, Chayofa, Tenerife, 38652. Players aged four and over are welcome, regardless of skill level or ability. This makes it possible to include tennis as a separate activity in your travel plans, apart from the animal parks and stargazing.

Routes and cultural context

The climb known as the Vilaflor Route begins on the TF-28 at Chayofa. The Arona–Vilaflor Route passes through Chayofa before reaching La Camella. This identifies both the start of the climb to Vilaflor and another route that passes through Chayofa on its way to La Camella—useful reference points when planning your own island itinerary.

The place name is also part of the area’s history: Chayofa is one of the names preserved as a significant part of Arona’s Indigenous heritage. This cultural connection adds a historical perspective to the choice of animal, sports and stargazing activities.
