Black thermal water is a distinctive feature of Moravske-Toplice: the black baths at the Terme 3000 Thermal Park have indoor and outdoor areas and are open year-round. There are also other thermal spa facilities, golf, hiking trails and cultural sites in the surrounding area. You can tailor this variety to your interests – from swimming and wellness to a round of golf or an excursion to churches and traditional crafts.
Thermal Water, Wellness and Golf
At the Terme 3000 Thermal Park, the spa is distinguished by its dark thermal mineral water. Facilities include a water adventure park and wellness services. Check the latest operating information for these facilities before your trip. The outdoor pool area at Terme Vivat includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, a pool with black thermal water and a children's pool. The 800 m² wellness centre offers massages and beauty rituals based on local elements from Prekmurje. The Terme Vivat musical fountain lets guests choose music and step into the fountain among the drops of thermal water.
The Livada Golf Course is next to the Moravske Toplice thermal spa and is suitable for both beginners and experienced golfers. Its course has the longest hole in Slovenia. This combines a clear focus on golf with the nearby thermal spa; the baths and golf course remain separate activities when planning your day.
Trails and Landscape
Moravske Toplice has almost 100 kilometres of hiking and recreational trails. Individual routes range from 1.8 to 20 kilometres in length. This range makes it easier to choose a route based on the time available and the distance you want to cover. At the municipal level, the municipality lies within GoriÄŤko Nature Park, a protected area under the Natura 2000 network.
In the surrounding area, the marsh trail in LonÄŤarovci follows a 50-metre stretch of marsh meadow to a platform by the Curek stream. Guided visits must be arranged in advance. The Butterfly Trail also passes through wetlands, where rare and endangered butterfly species are found. Visits to this trail with a guide are possible only by prior arrangement. The two trails have different focal points: at Curek, the meadow, stream and platform are the defining features; the Butterfly Trail focuses on wetlands and the species found there.
Churches, Crafts and Regional History
The Evangelical Church of the Good Shepherd Jesus stands in the centre of Moravske Toplice. The park of the Reformed region of Prekmurje lies in front of the church. For more architectural and cultural sights, look to the surrounding area: in Bogojina, six kilometres from Moravske Toplice, JoĹľe PleÄŤnik designed the church, which was built between 1924 and 1927.
The Filovci Open-Air Museum brings together traditional pottery, the architecture of original Pannonian houses and the village's pottery heritage. The Bojnec pottery workshop operates at the museum and continues the local craft. In Selo, eleven kilometres from Moravske Toplice, the Romanesque rotunda preserves two layers of wall paintings. Tours are conducted by the Selo branch of the Moravske Toplice TIC; arrange your visit in advance.
Visitor Information and Seasonal Activities
The Moravske Toplice Tourist Information Centre is in the town centre. A municipal profile dated 20 January 2025 states that it is available year-round. The TIC rents trekking bikes, children's bikes, electric bikes and e-scooters. Check availability before your trip. The centre also organises the traditional summer tourist market; check the relevant year's programme for the date.
A seasonal 30-minute panoramic ride on a tourist train in Moravske Toplice and the surrounding area is listed for 2026. Check the departure dates in advance. A description from February 2025 states that the “Adopt-a-vine” offer includes a bottle of wine from your own vine as a benefit at the annual grape harvest. If you plan to take part, check the current terms.
