Draglica is known for a named circular hike as well as for independent natural and cultural sites. The 16.82 km Murtenica–Draglica–Tavničko jezero circular hiking trail is laid out as a loop. It passes Tavničko Lake and leads to the wooden Church of the Holy Trinity in Draglica. The village is also home to the Crni bor–Lira natural monument.

Circular Hike as a Planning Framework

The route name includes Murtenica, Draglica and Tavničko jezero. The lake and the church have different relationships to the route: the trail passes Tavničko Lake and reaches the church. Its total length of 16.82 km gives you a specific distance to plan around. Set your pace and breaks according to your own schedule; trail conditions can change, so check them before setting out. The route is described as a loop, so its stated length applies to the entire circuit, not to an individual section of the trail.

Lake and Natural Monument

Tavničko Lake in Draglica formed in a former mine shaft. Its origin links the body of water to past mining activity. The Crni bor–Lira natural monument is also located in the village. This brings together two distinct natural features: a lake whose origins are connected to a former mine, and a named natural monument.

Wooden Church and Local History

The wooden Church of the Holy Trinity is a destination on the circular hike. It was consecrated on 6 June 2017. Archimandrite and Abbot Metodije gave the church a copy of the icon of the Most Holy Mother of God “Milk-Giver.” The consecration and the gift offer different historical perspectives: the date refers to the consecration of the church, while the second detail records the donor and the specific icon.

Memorials at the Churchyard

Beside the church are memorial plaques and a memorial cross honoring participants in the wars of 1912 to 1918 from this area. A memorial plaque at the entrance to the churchyard commemorates Radivoje Savković, who died on the island of Vido in 1916. The dates refer to different things: the period from 1912 to 1918 concerns the honored war participants and their wars, while 1916 is the year of Savković’s death. The memorial plaques and cross are to the right of the entrance to the churchyard. This distinguishes the commemoration of war participants from the remembrance of a named individual.

When planning your stay, you can focus on different aspects: the circular hike is a specific route with a stated length, while the lake and natural monument offer distinct natural features. The church adds its consecration, the gift of the icon and the memorials. You can make the hike your main focus or give greater weight to nature and local history.
