Grzybowo is a good choice if you want to combine time at the beach with water sports, cycling and small discoveries around the village. Here, the southern coast of the Baltic Sea forms a bay known by its geographical name, Zatoka Grzybowska. The beach is used by surfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts; conditions and facilities may vary. Active tourism, including cycling, is possible in Grzybowo and the surrounding areas. This brings two main attractions together for your trip: activities on the water and places of interest around the village that can be included as stops on walks or cycling tours.

Beach, cycling route and local points of interest

On the main street, beside a fountain, stands the three-dimensional “GRZYBOWO” sign. It is one of the village’s well-known attractions and a stopping point on walks and cycling tours. The international R-10 cycling route passes a walkable sculpture known as “Wielkie rowery” at the beach entrance on Bałtycka Street. Visitors can climb onto the sculpture and take a photo. If you want to include a named landmark in your cycling tour, this is a specific point along the route.

At the beach entrance on Plażowa Street, a walkway leads to an observation platform. So, alongside the cycling and walking destinations, there is also a dedicated viewpoint at the beach access. These local features offer different points of interest: a striking sign on the main street, a sculpture on the R-10 and a platform at the Plażowa beach entrance.

Sport and landscape in Grzybowo

In the western part of Grzybowo is the Orlik sports and recreation complex, with football and basketball courts. The complex includes a football pitch with a safe surface, a playground and an outdoor fitness area. The illuminated basketball court is also accessible in the evening. This offers a choice between different activities: surfing and kitesurfing at the beach, and football and basketball at the Orlik complex.

The dunes also have a distinctive landscape feature: Grzybowo has peat-rich escarpments. They add a natural aspect to the village’s character, alongside the beach and sports facilities. If you are choosing your stay based on more than just activities on the water, these striking landforms may provide another factor to consider.

More coastal landscapes in the wider Kołobrzeg destination

Dźwirzyno is another destination within the wider Kołobrzeg area. Its beach forms a broad, sandy stretch of coast bordered by dunes and pine forest, making it suitable for walks and relaxing in the shade. During the bathing season, there are lifeguarded sections of beach, food stalls, changing rooms and toilets. Some access points are adapted for pushchairs and people with reduced mobility.

Dźwirzyno harbour offers a different focus: formerly a fishing harbour, it is now a fishing and tourism harbour. It is suitable for coastal sailing, fishing trips and sea excursions in small boats. The landscapes of the Kołobrzeg commune also include coastal dunes, peat bogs, pine forests, meadows, salt marshes and river valleys. Thus, the wider Kołobrzeg destination offers, beyond Grzybowo’s beach and local features, other distinct landscapes and harbour-related attractions.
