At Dzwirzyno Beach, you can enjoy views of the Baltic Sea from the sandy shore or an observation terrace. The area also features a varied dune landscape, a distinctive coastal peat bog habitat and various water sports opportunities. Local activities cater to different interests—from views and nature to sailing and trips in small boats.

Beach and sea views from different perspectives

Dzwirzyno’s wide, sandy beach lies several kilometers west of Kolberg. On the landward side, it is bordered by dunes with pine forest. Both the open beach and the wooded dune fringe are therefore part of the landscape.

The modern observation terrace on the beach offers views of the Baltic Sea and its sunsets. It makes a pleasant destination for a walk and a stopover for cyclists. From there, you can enjoy the sea view without going down to the beach—a different perspective on the coast than from the sand.

Another distinctive feature is the Patelnia shifting dune behind the Havet and Geovita hotels. It moves about two meters northeast each year. This approximate rate of movement makes the dune a landscape feature that changes over time rather than simply marking a fixed point on the beach.

A coastal peat bog and protected oaks

The Bór wrzoścowy ecological reserve lies in the northeast of Dzwirzyno. It includes a coastal peat bog and forest habitat of about two hectares, unique on the Polish coast. The habitat lies in a shallow dune hollow and is associated with coastal crowberry pine forests. The landscape is therefore not only beach and forest, but also a distinctive habitat within the dune landscape.

Another natural monument is a group of 16 pedunculate oaks on Wyzwolenia Street. The trees are protected, and their trunk circumferences range from 125 to 250 centimeters. Together with the extensive peat bog habitat, they provide a contrast: one is a particular group of trees, the other a continuous habitat.

Harbor and water sports

Dzwirzyno’s former fishing harbor is now a fishing and tourism harbor. It is suitable for coastal sailing, fishing trips and sea excursions in small boats. These activities bring the coast and sea into focus, while water sports on Lake Resko offer other opportunities.

The Błękitna Marina on Lake Resko in Dzwirzyno offers opportunities for sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. It is considered one of the most modern facilities in Pomerania. Several types of water sports are available at this named location, though they do not offer the same experience: sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing each have a different focus.

During the summer season, the Water Tourism and Recreation Center rents out SUP boards, kayaks, pedal boats and small sailing boats of the Optymist, Eikplast and Omega types. This offer is seasonal; if you want to use a particular piece of equipment, it is best to check its availability for your visit in advance.

Bałtyk and the town’s history

The former Elisabeth Sea Hospice is now called “Bałtyk.” The building is among the oldest of the 22 buildings in Dzwirzyno that are protected as historic monuments. Its historical name and current designation are part of its identity, as is its place within this protected building stock.
