A Neo-Romanesque fieldstone church with a much older baptismal font, a preserved watermill and cycling routes with clearly defined directions give Gościno a varied character. There is also a weeping ash protected as a natural monument, Nordic walking routes and a sports complex with several facilities. When planning a stay, you can group these attractions according to different interests: architectural history, nature and outdoor activities each offer their own highlights.

The church and its stone baptismal font

The parish church of St. Andrew Bobola in Gościno was built in 1865 as a Neo-Romanesque fieldstone church. Inside is a stone, chalice-shaped baptismal font. It was carved from a single Gotland limestone erratic and dates from around the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries. This brings together two clearly distinct periods: the church was built in the 19th century, while the baptismal font is much older. The church’s style and building material define its architecture; the font’s shape, stone and date make it a distinct cultural and historical highlight.

The watermill and local history

A watermill still stands on the Gościnka in the southeastern part of the village. It complements the church as a historic feature of the local area with a technical character. The two historical attractions are distinct: the parish church is notable for its architectural style and baptismal font, while the mill on the Gościnka is a preserved example of milling history. Visitors choosing Gościno for its cultural attractions can explore the church and the history of the mill as separate interests.

Cycling routes with different points of reference

The cycling routes can be divided into three directions and types of destinations. One route runs from Gościno through Pławęcino to the boundary between the municipalities of Gościno and Siemyśl. Another runs from Gościno to the boundary between Gościno and Karlino. There is also a cycling route from Gościno towards Dargocice, ending at Lake Kamica. The first two routes are described in terms of municipal boundaries; the third names a specific destination, the lake, and runs towards Dargocice. This distinction is useful when choosing a route: you can use either a municipal boundary or Lake Kamica as your point of reference.

Nature and outdoor activities

A weeping ash protected as a natural monument grows near the church. There are also old chestnut trees, small-leaved lime trees and sycamore maples. The protected weeping ash provides a specific point of interest for nature lovers; the other trees add to the variety of trees near the church.

Gościno also has Nordic walking routes, providing a second clearly defined way to stay active alongside cycling. Gościno also has a skatepark connected to a sports centre, forming a single complex. The sports centre includes a gym and a bowling alley. This makes it easy to distinguish the route-based activities from the sports complex facilities when choosing a place to stay with outdoor activities in mind.

Getting around and a cultural event

Provincial road 162 runs through Gościno, as do several county roads, municipal roads and local streets. These different road classifications provide a clear indication of the village’s position in the road network.

A cultural event with a clearly specified date was Zapusty, held on 14 February 2026. The Centrum Kultury i Książki in Gościno organised the pre-Lenten festival, featuring Polish customs, music and communal entertainment. The programme included competitions, performances, tastings and concerts.
