Jodlow offers several different reasons to stay: MTB trails, a forest nature trail, a long hike and a Baroque church. When planning, the main consideration is whether you want to spend time cycling, on a nature trail, on a longer hike or at a cultural attraction. Details about distance, elevation gain and walking time make it easier to plan your trip.
Cycling routes: distance, terrain and directions
The Ostoja singletrack loop is 13.9 km long and has an elevation gain of 311 m. Two difficult sections run over roots and stones. The loop can be ridden with children; the difficult sections, totalling about 400 m, are better covered on foot. So the route’s suitability for children does not mean they can avoid this stretch on foot. The 13.9 km refers to the entire loop, while the approximately 400 m refers to the difficult sections.
The Glacensis Jodłów singletrack is an MTB route with signposts. A red cycling route runs through Jodłów and continues to the Jodłów–Horní Morava border crossing. The routes have different features: the distance and elevation gain are specified for Ostoja, signposts are mentioned for Glacensis, and the red route heads towards the border crossing. If your plans include crossing the border, check the crossing’s current status in advance.
For the Jodłów singletrack loop, the access car park is in Jodłów by the Ostoja shelter. Parking conditions can change, so check them before you set off.
Forest nature trail to Trójmorski Wierch
The “Kraina leśnych ciekawostek” nature trail runs from Jodłów to Trójmorski Wierch and is about 4 km long. It was renovated in 2024. It explores forestry and the main forms of nature conservation, using the Nadleśnictwo Międzylesie forest district as an example. The route therefore has a specific educational focus as well. If you are interested in forest management and conservation methods, you can make these topics part of your reason for taking the trail.
Hike with an eight-hour walking time
A hiking trail runs from Międzylesie via Jodłów to Mały Śnieżnik (1,318 m) and the Hala pod Śnieżnikiem mountain shelter. The stated walking time is eight hours. This makes walking time an important factor in planning your day: if you choose this route, set aside a substantial part of your stay for it rather than treating it as a short addition between other activities. By contrast, the forest nature trail has an approximate distance of 4 km; the two routes can therefore be compared using different planning measures.
Baroque church visits by arrangement
The Baroque Church of św. Jana Chrzciciela in Jodłów was built in 1756, replacing a wooden church dating from 1590. This gives your visit a specific architectural history: the older wooden building was followed by the new Baroque church. A prior telephone appointment is required to view the interior. Arrange your visit by phone before you arrive rather than planning on spontaneous access to the church interior.
