Radevormwald offers several different ways to enjoy a stay: the exhibits take centre stage at the IG Bismarck Motorcycle Museum, while other attractions explore local industry and the area’s textile history. For time outdoors, there is also the Clothmakers’ Trail and recreation areas with a range of uses.
Culture from two-wheelers to textile history
The IG Bismarck Motorcycle Museum is housed at Textilstadt Wülfing in Radevormwald-Dahlerau. It presents numerous exhibits, many of them in their original condition. The Wülfing Museum makes the history of the former Johann Wülfing & Sohn textile factory accessible to visitors. The Radevormwald Local History Museum focuses on something different: products from local industry and crafts. The museum route includes four museums and offers culture enthusiasts another thematic framework. If you would like to visit individual museums, check their visiting arrangements in advance, as visitor policies may change.
Art and architecture in the townscape
The Evangelical Reformed Church on the market square is a listed heritage building and provides an architectural highlight alongside the museum collections. Works by international artists are regularly displayed in the town hall, public spaces and four town churches. Individual works and locations may change. So if you have a particular work in mind, check in advance where it is on display.
Recreation and trails
The Uelfebad and Wupper Dam have different recreational offerings: Uelfebad is an accessible recreation area for walkers, anglers and model boat users. The Wupper Dam offers hiking trails, picnic areas and a marina for sailing and rowing boats. Check for current restrictions before planning activities on the water.
The Clothmakers’ Trail connects the town hall with the Wupper Dam and runs through the Uelfe Valley and the Wupper Valley. For the return journey, you can take bus 671: it runs from the trail’s endpoint at the top of the dam back to central Radevormwald. This gives you a specific return option without assuming a journey time or service frequency. Check the current timetable and trail conditions before setting out.
Cycling in the wider region
The signposted Wasserquintett Cycle Route is an option in the wider region. The route is 73 kilometres long, of which 28 kilometres follow a former railway line. This distinction between the total route and its former railway section can help you decide whether a regional cycling tour suits your stay.
A Bergisch coffee table for groups
The cafeteria at the Wülfing Museum offers a Bergisch coffee table for groups of eight or more; advance reservations are required. As catering arrangements may change, confirm the details in advance. This option is therefore particularly relevant for a group planning to stop for refreshments together.
