Neuhausen brings together hiking trails, forest themes and historic village settings to create a varied destination for a stay. The Jubilee Trail leads through all four districts and connects nature, village centers and sights. Other destinations include Galgenberg, the WaldKlimaPfad and St. Sebastian’s Church. You can plan your visit around exploring several districts on one circuit, learning about nature in the forest or visiting individual cultural sites.

Circular Trail and Local History

The Jubilee Trail is a circular route connecting all four districts of the municipality. It passes through natural areas and historic village centers and takes in various sights. Along the route are the Church of St. Urban and St. Vitus, the Kerker-Christi Chapel, the historic rectory and the St. Sebastian Chapel in Neuhausen. This makes it possible to combine hiking and local history on the same outing. The route brings together a range of stops rather than focusing on a single building.

In the WĂĽrm Valley, historic village settings meet the landscapes of the northern Black Forest. Hikes there can largely follow the course of the WĂĽrm River. The two options offer different points of reference: the Jubilee Trail connects the four districts and their sights, while in the WĂĽrm Valley the river can guide the direction of a hike.

Forest and Landscape

Galgenberg, above Neuhausen, is a small plateau with a pond and pine trees. The BĂĽchelberg Nature Reserve is about 30 minutes from Neuhausen and includes heathland with juniper, silver thistles, gentians and orchids. The landscapes described have distinct features: at Galgenberg, the plateau, pond and pine trees take center stage; at BĂĽchelberg, it is the heathland vegetation.

The WaldKlimaPfad offers visitors information about climate change and sustainable regional timber use in a forest setting. The fairy-tale trail “The Forest Is Going Crazy” has a different focus: this forest discovery experience features riddles and QR code stations. It also includes an audio story recorded by children from the municipality. These offer two different ways to explore the forest: an informative nature theme and a story with riddle stations.

Historic Traces and Architecture

Neuhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1150. Finds from the Neolithic and Roman periods have also been discovered in the municipality. St. Sebastian’s Church in Neuhausen was built in 1475 and retains a Gothic interior with a valuable wooden ceiling and richly carved altars. Its construction date, interior and furnishings offer different starting points for exploring local history.

Wave Pool and Finding Accommodation

The Schellbronn wave pool and leisure pool has a wave and swimming pool, massage jets, a large lawn, sports and children’s play areas, and a shaded toddler pool. Seasonal opening hours may change, so check the current hours before your visit.

If you are looking for a hotel for a stay in Neuhausen, it helps to consider your priorities: hiking and local history can be combined on the Jubilee Trail, while the forest trails explore different themes and the wave pool offers another activity. These options can guide your plans without requiring you to fit every destination into a fixed itinerary.
