There are several ways to explore the area around Bøvlingbjerg actively: three marked trails of different approximate lengths, the versatile Generationernes Plads and a wetland that can be explored on foot and by mountain bike in dry conditions. There is also a fishing facility and a shelter and nature campsite. When choosing your accommodation, it helps to first consider whether your stay will focus mainly on the trails, recreational activities, fishing or nature-based overnight stays.
Choose trails by length and scenery
There are three marked trails in Bøvlingbjerg: the yellow trail is about 4.7 kilometres long, the green one about 3.7 kilometres and the white one about 2.5 kilometres. The white trail is therefore the shortest: around 1.2 kilometres shorter than the green one and around 2.2 kilometres shorter than the yellow one. It passes through open countryside, alongside shelterbelts, past the Fåre Mølleå and through a small patch of woodland. This route therefore brings together several landscape features over approximately 2.5 kilometres.
The trails are open to pedestrians but not cyclists. They may be temporarily closed due to hunting, so check access conditions before setting out. Trail lengths and markings may change.
Recreational areas and wetland
Generationernes Plads brings together different kinds of exercise and play. Its facilities include the skate route known as Mælkevejen, skate ramps and a parkour area, as well as a carousel, basketball hoops, a ball wall, a jumping pillow, chess, pétanque, a sandbox, a fire pit and a dog run. Skateboarding and parkour are offered alongside ball games and activities such as chess and pétanque. You can choose the area based on the activity you want to focus on. As the facilities may change, it is worth checking what is currently available if you are planning a specific visit.
A gravel path leads from Generationernes Plads to a recreational wetland designed after the example of Nissum Fjord. In dry conditions, you can walk and mountain bike there and in the surrounding landscape. Cycling is not allowed on the marked trails; mountain biking is possible at the wetland and in the surrounding landscape in dry conditions.

Bøvlingbjerg is located in Nissum Fjord Nature Park and Geopark Vestjylland. Local attractions include both marked trails and the wetland near Generationernes Plads.
