Marked hiking trails around Vlčková lead to the Bzová Natural Monument; there are rest areas and springs along the tourist trails. Hiking, protected forest habitats and local history give a stay different points of focus. If you are considering Vlčková as a destination, you can plan around whether trails and landscapes or local cultural attractions should take centre stage.

Hiking around Vlčková

The marked hiking trails around Vlčková lead to the protected natural area of Bzová and are suitable for hiking. Rest areas and springs provide clear points of reference along the way. A named circular route adds another option: “Hostýnskými vrchy IV (Around Vlčková)” starts in the village centre opposite the chapel and runs through the surrounding area. Information about the circular route was last updated on 26 May 2010, so check the trail conditions locally before setting out.

One rocky destination in the wider region is Přední skály in Ondřejovsko. From the Okluka trail sign, a green-marked hiking trail leads there in less than half an hour. This starting point and the travel time refer to the route to Přední skály; they do not describe the journey from Vlčková. When planning, you can therefore distinguish between a circular route starting in the village centre and a rocky destination starting at the Okluka trail sign.

Beech forest, rocks and birdlife

The Bzová Natural Monument lies within the cadastral area of Vlčková and protects a primeval beech forest with sycamore maple and fir. Rare species found there include wild arum, stock dove, middle spotted woodpecker, goshawk and sparrowhawk. Vlčková also lies in the Hostýnské vrchy Nature Park; the village’s cultural landscape is described as harmonious and particularly valuable in scenic terms.

Ondřejovsko offers a different landscape: it has rocky slopes with beech, sycamore maple and elm, as well as a distinctly primeval-forest character. The ridge of Ondřejovsko and its wider surroundings are an important nesting and refuge area for many bird species. Nature enthusiasts can therefore explore both a protected beech forest and a rocky, forested landscape.

Chapel and local Children’s Day

The Chapel of St Martin in Vlčková was built in 1900 in honour of Saint Martin. Another local point of interest is the traditional Children’s Day event, “Dětský den s hledáním pokladu” (Children’s Day with a Treasure Hunt), held around the House of Gardeners. By 2026, the local gardening organisation had held the event twelve times; the twelfth edition was documented in May 2026. If a date matters for your trip, check the announced dates: future dates may differ.
