Honětice offers a range of different attractions: the Dvůr Honětice swimming biotope, a hiking route above the village, and several reminders of its local history. You can tailor your stay to your interests, whether you want to spend time by the water, walk through the countryside or visit individual historic sites. The specific details help you distinguish between these options.
Dvůr Honětice Swimming Biotope
The Dvůr Honětice swimming biotope was built in 2012 as a bathing area with a natural water-filtration system. The water is purified using three biological zones, planted shallow-water areas and a diverse community of aquatic plants. The design of the filtration system is also part of what makes the bathing area distinctive: it comprises not only areas of water, but specifically biological zones and plants.
The swimming facilities include a large paddling pool and a non-swimmer area. Refreshments and sports equipment rental add to what is on offer, but may be available seasonally. Facilities also include a washroom, toilets and showers; all facilities are accessible to people with disabilities. These facilities may also be available seasonally. Check availability before your visit if you want to plan around them.
Hiking the Kaštanová Route
For a hiking option, the Kaštanová Route runs from Zdislavice towards Honětice along a green-marked trail. Check the trail markings locally. Above Honětice, the route passes the abandoned settlement of Svárov and the remains of the Svárov fortress. Its course thus connects a hiking trail with named historic sites.
A notable feature above Honětice is the chestnut avenue, with 332 trees. It is designated as a protected, heritage-listed avenue. The views along the Kaštanová Route include Chřiby, the Kroměříž region and the Hostýnské vrchy. This route therefore highlights both a protected landscape feature and the views mentioned above.
A ditch and rampart are visibly preserved on the eastern side of the Svárov fortress site. Check the condition of the earthworks locally. This gives the route a specific historical connection: its stops include the remains of the fortress, while the chestnut avenue and the views provide other aspects of the walk.
Chapel, Monument and Hillfort
The Chapel of St. Anne stands in the village square and is a locally significant landmark of Honětice. It is a specific focal point for local history in the centre of the village. Another historic feature is the statue of St. John of Nepomuk: it is the only monument in Honětice and dates from the mid-18th century.
Another historical site is in the Oboře forest. There you will find a prehistoric hillfort with skeletal graves. The chapel, statue and hillfort differ in type and period; the hiking route, by contrast, passes the remains of Svárov and offers views of the named landscapes. Visitors to Honětice can therefore plan their stay around the bathing area, the route or the individual historic sites, without treating these distinct themes as one and the same.
