Pravice can be viewed from two perspectives when planning a trip: as a place with a cultural monument and distinctive historical connections, and as a crossing point for two named cycling routes. Local events and a bus connection add timing and practical considerations to your plans.

Cultural Monument and Local History

The historically valuable complex of the manor farmstead, known as Zámeček, is a cultural monument in Pravice. Zámeček has long been unused and neglected and requires extensive renovation; its condition may change after restoration.

On the village square, the statue of sv. Donáta stands on a grassy area at the northeastern corner of the granary. The granary belongs to the former manor farmstead complex and the former medieval fortress. The date 1753 is inscribed on the back of the statue's plinth. Thus, both the exact location and a specific inscription are documented for this monument.

The Chapel of Nejsvětější Trojce also recalls earlier building history. It replaced a former Gothic church in 1833, which had already been mentioned in 1222 and was still standing in the 18th century. The chapel was built at the expense of the Viennese merchant P. Fuhrlinger and his wife, née Hieszová of Pravice. The dates refer to different periods: 1222 is when the former church was mentioned, and 1833 is when the chapel was built.

Cycling Routes Through Pravice

The Znojemská vinařská cyklostezka passes through Pravice. The Mezi poli a vinohrady cycling route also runs through the town. It is signposted and mostly follows quiet roads and field tracks, running along the Dyje and Jevišovka rivers through the rolling agricultural landscape between the westernmost municipalities of Hrušovansko.

This gives you two different points of reference for planning a cycling trip: both routes pass through Pravice, while details of the road and track types, rivers and landscape are also provided for Mezi poli a vinohrady. Take the mix of roads and field tracks into account; exact route conditions may change.

Events and Traditions

Pálení čarodějnic takes place every year. Local firefighters build a bonfire averaging ten metres in height. The social occasion also includes a cultural programme, music and convivial gatherings. If you would like to plan your trip around it, check the date and programme in advance; details may change.

Traditional events in Pravice also include Easter rattling and carolling. Pravické krojované hody are among the town's folk traditions. Alongside the annual Pálení čarodějnic described above, these are other local customs, each with its own connections to tradition and community.

Landscape and Getting There

A 300 ha fallow deer enclosure lies within the cadastral area of Pravice.
