The chapel, an ecologically significant landscape complex and seasonal village events showcase different sides of Pametice. In the historic village centre, you can place the chapel in its historical context; nature leads you to the Pamětický Valley and the forest near the Amerika district. Events add their own highlights from summer through autumn. You can choose which of these aspects shapes your stay based on your interests, rather than trying to fit them all into a fixed itinerary.

Landscape and cycling route

The Pamětický Valley is an ecologically significant landscape complex of local biogeographic importance. Another natural feature is the forest bordering the Amerika district, which stretches between Vísky, Drválovice, Kladoruby and Letovice. It offers tourists opportunities to enjoy nature. The valley is notable for its ecological significance, while the forest offers a place to enjoy nature. These are two distinct nature-related themes to explore in Pametice.

There is also a specific connection to cycling: marked cycle route 5476 between Blansko and Horní Poříčí can be used in Pamětice, where it runs along a local road. If you plan to take the route, check the route details locally before setting out. The road section is a specific factor to consider when planning your own route.

Local history in the name and chapel

Pamětice grew from an old settlement of four farmsteads arranged in a square. The village’s name comes from a farmer called Paměta, who named the settlement that in 1145. The settlement’s layout and the history of its name offer two different ways to explore its early history: the spatial arrangement of the farmsteads and the origin of the name.

The chapel of Pamětice is the most distinctive building in the oldest, central, circular part of the municipality. It was ceremonially opened in 1938. Extensive restoration began in 2000; in 2002, its original cast-iron bell was replaced with a new one. Its history therefore includes both its ceremonial opening and later restoration work, as well as the replacement of a specific component.

Events with different themes

At Ve Skale, part of a former sand quarry was converted into a leisure area. The area is used for summer sports games and cultural events, especially dances. Summer is the explicitly stated focus of events here.

The village pond’s draining is an autumn event featuring ample refreshments and usually takes place on a Saturday. If a particular festival is a deciding factor for your trip, check the announced event dates in advance.

Masopust is a traditional masked procession through Pamětice; in the evening, the best masks are awarded in the hall of the cultural centre. Pamětice Cultural Centre provides venues for local cultural and social events. The O Pamětický pohár firefighting sports competition is part of the Velká cena Blanenska. The masked procession, cultural events and firefighting sports are therefore among the different occasions you can take into account when planning your trip.
