A red-marked route ends in Dolní Lhota, a green hiking trail begins here, and an excursion route passes through the village. The memorial sites also offer different perspectives: a monument to the victims of two world wars on the village green and a plaque at the birthplace of Jaroslav Štěrbáček. This gives you two concrete topics to consider when planning your visit: choosing a route by length and course, and exploring local commemorative culture.
Marked Routes and Longer Excursions
The red-marked tourist route No. 509 runs from Lomnice via Lysice and Doubravice n. Sv. to Dolní Lhota. At 37.7 km, it is the longest of the three routes listed here. The sequence of places puts Dolní Lhota at the end of the route, with Lysice and Doubravice n. Sv. as intermediate stops along the way from Lomnice. This distinguishes route No. 509 from the hiking trail that starts in Dolní Lhota and leads to Olešnice.
The green-marked hiking trail No. 4505 runs from Dolní Lhota to Olešnice and is 8.5 km long. Of the three distances given, this is the shortest. The trail is listed in the 2026 Boskovicko brochure; check the signage and route before travelling. Route No. 5160 is 32 km long and runs from Letovice to Svojanov and back through Dolní Lhota. The same brochure lists it as a half-day excursion. The information provides different points of comparison: for No. 4505, the marking, endpoints and route to be checked are relevant; for No. 5160, the time classification is also included; and No. 509 can be distinguished by its sequence of several places and its longer distance.
Memorial Sites in the Village
A monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars stands in the park on Dolní Lhota’s village green. Its inscription commemorates those killed and tortured in both wars. A memorial plaque for Jaroslav Štěrbáček is at house No. 79, his birthplace. Štěrbáček is also among the names honoured on the monument.
The two forms of commemoration focus on different things: the monument recalls victims of the world wars, while the plaque commemorates one person at his birthplace. Štěrbáček’s name on the monument connects the two references. Anyone interested in local commemorative culture can find both an inscription referring to specific groups of people and a plaque dedicated to an individual.
The Svitava and the Fishing Area
The Svitava is also identified by a specific fishing boundary. A 2019 description places the boundary of the Svitava 3 trout fishing district (No. 463 064) at the road bridge on the road to Dolní Lhota railway station.
